Well yeah, another shot implies giving him another season - a FULL season - and let’s see if he can last an entire year without a major injury. I guess I’m just not quite ready to fold on him yet.

Exum on the bench coming on for Conley sounds a whole lot better than having Conley with no Rubio or Exum behind him. And let’s think about this, a healthy Exum - do we take Houston to at least a game 7?
I think we do.

If anyone’s place on the bench is too much it’s Neto.

Give me Conley 100 times out of 100 over Rubio and Exum. Quality > Quantity. Sorry

You don’t get pts in this league for injuries, airballed 3s, and driving to the basket and chucking the ball at the backboard.

Anyone who thinks we should retain Rubio should rewatch those last 2 mins of game 5. Ignore the regular season limitations and just watch those last 2 mins. That’s Rubio in a nutshell.

I think you misunderstood me. I think we’d all take Conley over Rubio and Exum. Kind of a no brainer.

I’m saying that having Conley with Exum as his back up is better than just having Conley.

Great. Except in a few more seasons, Gobert might bolt, or in five more years, Donovan may bolt, because our incremental improvements were so negligible, they sought out greener pastures.

That's a terrible analogy.

We're 2 yrs into a rebuild. That's it. Give me examples of championship teams that were built overnight!

10% better? I disagree. He still can't get to the rim and/or finish very well. He puts his head down/gets too low when penetrating and it leaves him in awkward bodily situations which ends up in too many turnovers. His TS% went down, steal % went down, block % stayed the same, and rebound percentage basically stayed the same (6.4% to 6.6%). His win shares went down and VORP went down. He still doesn't get to the line like a stud does or even close. His assists percentage went up nicely but I wonder how much of that has to do with Rubio missing nine more games than the previous season. I'm in the @LogGrad98 camp who saw a small fraction of the explosive plays he had in year one and I'm not sure why. Maybe he was never 100%. Yeah, his three-point shot got better as the season went along and much of the stagnancy can be attributed to his being in a boot last summer but it's stagnancy nonetheless and to me he did not get 10% better but more like 3-4% better. It was negligible.

We're not two years into a rebuild. Losing Hayward didn't mean we lost everyone on the team. We will had a stud in place (Rudy) with other strong complimentary pieces around him.

We also lost George Hill that year. So, yes. We lost our franchise player and our second best offensive weapon (Hill).

You're basically like the Suns GM. Igor is an incredible coach. Yet the fire him after one season because they're absolute **** heads that have no patience.

Still waiting to hear what other teams built contenders in 2 yrs....
