What's new

We just need to play better.

We can blame Trey's shooting slump... blame Kanter for his defense.... etc, etc, etc.

But at the end of the day, we had more talent than that Pacers team.

We should have beaten them.

Plain and Simple.

Yeah. We need someone to step up and make some ****ing shots. Like most folks in the know, the truest combination of a championship team is 2.5 S or 2 at the very least...

Last 5 games :DFavors and EKanter and Burks

DFavors.............31.4 minutes.......24/48 (50%)........12.4 PPG / 8 rpg 62 pts made
EKanter.............27.4 minutes........32/55 (58%)........15 ppg / 7.6 rpg 75 pts made
ABurks..............34.2 minutes........22/58 (38%)........12.8 ppg / 3.2apg 64 pts made

We know Hayward is holding up his end as a starter and on the opposite end TBurke is putting a big strain on the starters with his shooting woes, but here's the other 3 starters play
Kanter has played 20 minutes less than Favors and has made 13 more pts and has played almost 35 minutes less than Burks and scored 11 more points
Kanter gives up more points but someone has to help Hayward put points on the scoreboard

How many more pts would Kanter have put up if he played Favors minutes or Burks minutes, someone has to score

I don't know if you're joking or what but the refs have been awful to the Jazz this season. I hate to blame refs because it goes both ways, but there have been stretches in several games where they look like they had a vendetta to settle.

Blaming a new system is probably the most reasonable answer, or simply that the Jazz just aren't that good to begin with.

Yeah, bra. I rarely, rarely blame the refs but I would have to agree. A few of our players have NOT been getting any benefit of the doubt calls.

Plain and Simple.

Perhaps. But sometimes losses on a back to back on the road happen, especially with a Jazz team that just isn't good quite yet.

By "a few of our players," you would probably mean Burks. Dude is getting straight up victimized going to the hole. Teams have him scouted now and are pretty sure he isn't going to stop and pop so they play him aggressively on the drive and are having a lot of success with it. Somehow Burks doesn't have enough "reputation" for a blow to the head to be counted as a foul yet. The odd thing is that he seemed to get more of those calls last year. Has there been some sort of new "point of emphasis" that I'm not aware of? I almost feel like Hayward could make the exact same play and get the call. Maybe I'm just a homer. . .

I'll add to the OP's thread title, not only do we have to play better, we have to score more points than the opponent. Fundamental rule.
