Weber State, best basketball team in state?

Could very well be. I don't know much about the cougars, but Utah would have trouble with Olympus Jr. High's girl's team.

I wouldn't count UVU out either.

BYU looks like they're in rebuild mode. And Utah would struggle against most HS teams. Lone Peak would beat them by double digits with lil Haws and Emery.
 
I'm an Aggie fan and I give props to WSU. They took it to us last night. That #4 didn't miss a shot all night it seemed. They have a great team and I hope they win out the rest of their games.
 
They probably will be for a few weeks. They won't win in Provo however, and remember BYU's starting point guard hasn't even played yet. They've been starting a 6'5" SG/SF Jr. that has never had significant playing time at any position, is a former walkon, has questionable ability to handle the ball, and absolutely no ability to see the court and push fast breaks. I think they had 0 fast break points at Utah State(a game I personally didn't even see). They'll be way better once Matt Carlino is allowed to play, though overall I don't think I have very high expectations for them. Maybe a bubble team.

It's early, but I do think Weber State is the best team in the state. I think they will win in Provo, and I think that they will absolutely dominate the Big Sky in route to a Tourny birth where they will win 1, maybe even 2 games.

Utah wouldn't have a problem with a high school team because of size difference (especially Lone Peak, who has nobody taller than 6' 4) but I agree completely with the idea that they are not a good college team at all. I'm not a big fan of Larry K either, but I guess time will tell what he can do.
 
Looking at Utah's schedule, you'll be able to count Utah's total victories on 1 hand by the time the season is over. It's gonna be ugly for a little while.

Could be longer than a little while.. getting Loveridge is a step in the right direction but they are going to have to find a way to get more top recruits if they are going to be competitive at all. Honestly if you were a Utah HS player, why would you pick Utah over Utah State right now?

I couldn't give you a answer to that right now. As a Ute fan, I'm just hoping the Loveridge signing is a sign that Larry K. is a good salesman who might be able to get some of these kids to buy into some type of return to glory b.s.
 
Weber St comes to Provo. Unless they have the depth to press BYU all night and double the bigs Davies and Hartsock will dominate them the paint.
 
The thing that sucks about Weber State is that even if they are the best basketball team in the state, most of us can't see them play. If they are going to be good I would like to see a few games. Maybe I'll go up to Ogden a few times or something.
 
Nice. That guy is balling this year. I did check that score right after the BYU football game ended and they were down 1 with like 25 seconds to go so I am glad they ended up winning. Should be a good game on the 7th.
