What's new

We're ****ing legit

I wouldn't even call it bad. Just not changing what was working. He only took 6 shots and had 8 points. 2/3 from deep and 2/2 from the FT line. If he pushed it he would have gotten his 20 IMO.

spot the **** on. Hill's ego is a major asset.

Hill puts up one bad individual offensive night and he cant be consistent anymore I guess.

Quit peeing in the punch bowl. Hill IS the difference. He is killing it. He doesn't have to score 22 per night for him to have a consistent positive effect for the team. Notice Hayward's stats with him in and out. Notice the team's stats with him on vs off the court. Notice our record with him on/off the court.

Can someone bring a new punch bowl?

These last few games have convinced me that the Jazz need to prioritize extending/re-signing Hill. Above Favors or anyone else. Having Hill locked in along with Gobert will be two major cards to play this offseason when it comes time to sign Hayward.

It does seem like there's a decreasing amount of tests for this Jazz squad to pass (other than Medical tests ><)... Certainly it's that way for Rudy..

There's always a chance of regression but I can;t help but think that the only real remaining tests/measuring stick games left for this team in the regular season are vs teams like the Warriors, Cavs and to a lesser extent the Clippers, Raptors and Spurs..

Extend Hill over Favors is an absolute must. Anyone that thinks otherwise hasn't watched the Jazz in the last 6 years

Um, you just typed up an extended version of what Cy said.

I'm an optimist, but I still disagree. The NBA is a league where you have to pass tests multiple times before believers reach critical mass. The Spurs and the Clippers will remain serious tests for two or more years (or as long as their current cores are intact). And, of course, the Warriors are the biggest obstacle in our window.

Here's an updated look at the NBA landscape. The @warriors have pulled away from pack while the @utahjazz have emerged as a team to watch.

IAWTP. One win over a team means nothing and I hope the players realize that. Hopefully it gives them a little more confidence and therefore a little more hunger and drive going into the playoffs, but in general, a win doesn't prove anything. Hell, even a first round series win followed by a second round win in game one or two in Golden State means little and it certainly doesn't mean we've arrived. History has proven that and shown that the media and people anoint greatness way too early. The playoffs are seven game series for a reason. We need to just play our brand of basketball 48 minutes a night and let the chips fall where they may. If that happens, I believe this team this year can achieve truly great things.

The next four games will hopefully do something to push us northeast a little bit more too.

Bad opponents usually means inconsistent effort. That's at least my observation from the last decades.

I like though that we're arguably the 3rd best team currently if that graphic is/was accurate

I think these last 4 games show what the ceiling may be for this team. They play like this and they can beat anybody. Not saying they would beat the top 4 teams, but they could. And when Favs and Burks come back and play well? ;)
