Westbrook in Serious Contract Negotiations w/ OKC

OKC without Durant missed the playoffs two seasons ago, I think they'll be battling till the end for the 8th seed.

Wow. If OKC is a lower seeded playoff team in 2018 that's a mid-first round pick for us.

They won 45 games that season. Most years that would put a team comfortably in the playoffs. Westbrook also missed 15 games that year. And their team that season beyond Durant and Westbrook was not anywhere as good as the team they have now. I expect them to make the playoffs easily and still be a threat in the division.

Westbrook agreed to an extension. He is in OKC for 2 more years with a player option on his 3rd year.

can't see OKC battling for anything more than the 7th or 8th seed tops

Exactly. If that pick is conveyed in 2018 and lower than 20, it's a HUGE win for Utah. Don't get me wrong. . . I hated giving up Kanter for essentially peanuts, but he was out the door in RFA in the offseason and the Thunder were positioned to be either a perennial contender or blow it up and be out of the lottery. Durant and Westbrook basically provided Utah with the best possible chance of actually getting something decent out of it.

Do not try explaining things to a lost cause. It is aready lost.
