Westbrook in Serious Contract Negotiations w/ OKC

The saddest thing is that there are many peeps on this board that would trade the okc pick back to okc for Kanter and his gargantuan salary, lack of defense, and lack of team first mentality.

Kanter will continue his legacy now that OKC is stuck.

Although $17.5 per year doesn't seem quite so bad with the recent uptick in salaries. Still... WAY TO RICH for a greedy, one sided, pig headed, negative asset.

We got Joe Johnson AND Boris Diaw for less than paying Kancer's salary.

I doubt that. I think they would be the in the extreme minority.

Agree... we know his limitations on both offense and defense. I want guys that open up options in how you can play... not guys that have extreme limitations that make you plan what you do around what they can't do.

Well put.

Jazz with two 1sts in 2017, two 1sts in 2018 and a bunch of second rounders. Still 10 under the cap with contracts that will give the Jazz room to keep most, if not all, of the important pieces.

How about DL now...

This. DL has done a great job with the rebuild.
Haven't got lucky and drafted a star yet. At least we have multiple additional chances coming up.

Yeah, I currently him giving him a B+. To get an A grade you do need to acquire a superstar, whether it be draft, trade, FA.

He's done an amazing job building the foundation and accumulating assets/talent. The next few years will be the real test though. The financial flexibility is about to go away and the ability to improve the team will be much harder. He needs to keep making the right moves. One mistake can ruin everything that was built so far.

Having lighting strike is mostly a function of luck in the draft. The last 3 drafts have been fantastic for Utah. No star was coming via free agency the last 2-3 years.

I give him an A.

Either way as SCS said. No room for mistakes now. What DL has done has been great. Now it gets even harder.
