What are you going to do KOC kills the tank

No one knows. KOC signed him to a three year deal at the end of last year. I think it isn't guaranteed, but why sign him that long if you don't keep him around at least part of this year, right?

Oh that D-League guy that they tried out for a week or two. I had not realised that they signed him to a 3 year deal. That increases the odds that the Core 4 will get major time. If your wings are Hayward, Burks, Williams, Carroll and Neal that means it is less likely that they will get a ton of FAs at those positions.

Maybe that will mean no Foye?

I think they will do Foye or Murphy. Probably depends on if they can get Foye cheap. Though, it wouldn't surprise me if Foye goes to Miami or Clips or OKC.

I don't think we need to tank, just be wise with our cap and be patient and target players in freeagentcy over the next two or three years.

Jerel McNeal, 6'3", 190, 6'7" wingspan, 36.5" vertical, faster than CP3, 39% three point shooting, 18.1 points and 5.5 assists per game, turns the ball over like he's Benedict Arnold.

This guy a PG or SG?

Edit: The Utah jazz roster site only says "G" so I am thinking a SG.

Some signing of vets is guaranteed. So that in and of itself will not make me blow my top. They key is how many, what positions they play and their level of talent.

For example there will be a big but will there be 2-3? Will there be a SG? Those things would be bad signs.
I predict the Jazz will re-sign Tinsley and DMC. They'll likely bring in another PG. Three months ago, I would have said Mo. But I don't think so. There was a love fest at his presser, but KOC and Lindsey didn't say much at the end of the season. Far more likely the Jazz go with a cheap 1-yr fix and look to upgrade at the deadline.

The fact they've brought in so many players and had a FA camp indicates to me that they're not planning on signing older vets. They're trying to find young guys to fill out the remaining spots on the roster and/or replace players like McNeal and Murphy.

DMC and Tinsley to me are vets and ones I would be pleased with. I tend to agree with the way you are reading things.

Yes, should have completed that sentence and said, "outside of Tinsley." Guess you could throw DMC in the vet category based on age (he'll be 27), but certainly not playing time, as he's only spent parts of 4 seasons in the league. The ONLY reason I could see the Jazz going with an older PG is to speed the development of the other youngsters. But Hayward and Burks can also distribute the ball, so maybe that's not as much of a concern. PG with the Jazz might be like PG with the Lakers or Heat where Kobe and Wade/LeBron run the offense. I see the offense flowing through Hayward; let's hope he''s up to the challenge!
