• He said in November 2020 that a ruling of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court would “induce violence in the streets.”
• He warned in August 2022 that “terrible things are going to happen” after the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago. (He also promoted Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-S.C.) prediction of “riots in the streets.”)
• He last year promoted a social media post in which a supporter said: “People my age and old[er] will physically fight for him this time. … They got my 6 and we Are Locked and LOADED.”
• Around the same time, he warned of “potential death & destruction” if he were indicted in Manhattan. He also posted, “OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED, AS THEY TELL US TO BE PEACEFUL!”
• In January, he warned of “bedlam in the country” if he were pursued on federal charges that he tried to interfere in the 2020 election.
• After his conviction in the New York hush money case, he alluded to his supporters reaching “a breaking point.”
• His former defense secretary has said Trump mused privately about shooting and wounding racial justice protesters to disperse demonstrations, and other reporting indicates he floated similarly violent crackdowns on undocumented immigrants and demonstrators.
• He has previously encouraged police to rough up criminals; praised a Montana politician while citing his assault of a reporter; invoked a notorious quote about shooting looters; suggested gun-rights supporters would be the last line of defense against Hillary Clinton’s judicial picks if she were president; alluded to police, soldiers and bikers loyal to him no longer being peaceful; and repeatedly made light of a brutal attack on former House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) husband”.

If nothing else, trump seems to be very supportive of violence and anticipates violence all the time.

He craves it, actually, relishes it, revels in it. He wants to think people like him so much they will die for him. He has a messianic complex on top of his rampant misogyny, narcissism, racism, and overall psychosis. I am sure his parents would be so proud. This is one outcome when you raise someone in such a way that they are consistently told they can do no wrong, and have everything handed to them at every turn, and are never, ever, held accountable to anyone or anything except their own whims. He has no morals, no conscience, no self-awareness. He is a force for chaos and that is how he likes it. A deeply sad and pitiful excuse for a human being. And at least half of Americans like that about him. What does that say about us as a species?

going by his father i'm guessing he would be proud. He was a mean nasty sob by all accounts and certainly must have helped Don ingrain the delusional think positive about yourself at all costs ethos.

What it says is half your country are simpleton cretins. And unfortunately the other half are stupid in a different way. Instead of trying to figure out why this kind of figure appeals to them and try to offer the best alternative possible that appeals to enough of the other half to bring them along,merely react with hysteria and tell them they "need to not be involved"

Even if you can't understand in a personal sense why on earth those you don't agree with have the views they have you have to have the humility to examine yourself and work out why they do and how to persuade them. Unfortunately the modern American left hasn't been capable of that at all.

1 in 4 Republicans supports political violence if election is 'compromised,' study says

One in six Americans supports political violence. The proportion is much higher among Republicans than Democrats.

According to the survey, 27% of Republicans and 32% of Republicans with a favorable view of Trump agree that “patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country.” Only 10% of independents and 8% of Democrats said the same.

“This is not just a partisan issue,” said Robert Jones, the president of the organization. “It’s a Trump and MAGA issue. It’s the kind of Trumpian takeover of the Republican Party.”

Jones linked that support for political violence to support for authoritarianism. The study found that 67% of Republicans scored high on an authoritarian scale, including 75% of Trump-favoring Republicans, compared to 35% of independents and 28% of Democrats.

“Even those Americans who see themselves as a Republican but have an unfavorable view of Trump, they are far less likely to have this kind of authoritarian orientation that goes along with support for political violence,” Jones said.

There was also wide support on the right to have armed citizens serve as poll watchers to ensure a fair presidential election. Twenty-four percent of Republicans supported that, compared to 28% of Trump-supporting Republicans and 10% of independents and Democrats.
