I’m not talking about ignoring the working man. That’s not Trump’s base. The working man overwhelmingly voted for Clinton and Biden and supports Harris. The common man still votes blue and it shows why in the Democratic platform. I’m talking about the ignorant, disengaged, racist, conspiratorial kooks. Many of these people are well to do and find entertainment and meaning to life in stirring the pot by injecting their vitriol and ignorance into our school boards and presidential elections.
I think the common man/working man group is more split than you think. I think the democrats have lost more of them than you think. Did you watch that video? I know it is a single video but it outlines a common complaint among Trump supporters, who are largely working class people.

Yours and Safetydans posts are spot on. Totally agree.

Yep, He'd get all the horned up 55+ male demographic which he definitely doesn't already have.
That was a bizarre response. Gabbard is a former democrat in congress, is near the middle politically which Vance is not, and is female. Any of those can be positives versus adding another white male that is far from center. She would have been a better option to sway independent voters, women, and republicans that are not as far to the right.

Take your horny posting elsewhere sir.

I still think Trump should have picked Tulsi Gabbard as his VP. His chances of winning would be much higher than with JD Vance.
It wouldn't matter. Trump has no shot at winning this election. He would have lost even if he'd chosen Michelle Obama to be his VP.

The American system of government works different from how nearly everyone thinks it does, and it is difficult to understate the impact of the changes made to the American voting system before the 2020 election. From America's economic prosperity, to supposedly leftist Democrats being a neo-liberal corporate capitalist party, to America being dominated by a two party system, and many other quirks, are a product of the way votes are counted.

Democracy is a lie. It is an illusion of choice. That isn't a crackpot theory but was mathematically proven back in 1951 by Kenneth Arrow in his PhD thesis 'Social Choice and Individual Values' for which he won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1972. Every possible system for determining public sentiment has faults, and the faults of our system serve to guide our government in a specific direction. You can get anomalous periods where there are three or four parties but the system is self correcting. This phenomenon is called Duverger's Law.

America isn't more prosperous because the American people are better, but because Americans exist in a system biased toward generating prosperity. The system isn't a guarantee. There will always exist people who don't prosper, but no system has proved a bias toward prosperity as robust as the American system. We talk about our government being a marketplace of ideas but the truth is the political squabbling is much ado about nothing while the system quietly does what it does in the background to generate more prosperity.... or at least that is how things worked up until 2020.

In 2020, the way our voting system works was radically changed. It will change our government because our government is determined by the system.

Tulsi Gabbard is a Russian asset.

I’m trying to find it. If it’s in this thread, I apologize, I’m just not seeing it. Maybe old age is taking a toll on my eyes?

I don’t think m Trump supporters are largely Working class. Democrats won voters earning $100,000 or less by a pretty large margin, 60-40. This includes nearly 90 percent of black voters, 65 percent of Hispanic voters, and 60 percent Asian voters. Meanwhile Trump won 54 percent of those voters making $100,000 or more. Pew has exit polls showing that Trump’s strongest demo are white dudes who make over $250,000 per year.

So I’m curious what you mean by working class voters making up the bulk of Trump’s base. If it’s easier, could you just send me the link to your video via dm? Or paste the link here so others following this discussion can watch it as well? I’d like to watch it.
