What's new

What has David Locke so upset?

You want my critique of Corbin, it's that he's taking a mediocre rebounding team and choosing offensive rebounds over spacing/assists. It's ugly and he doesn't have the talent to bail out poor spacing. Spread that **** out and give up the boards you're giving up anyway.

Here's another: Jeffyball kicks *** against lesser teams but it rarely works against playoff teams. That's why you lose to +.500 all the freaking time. Cut your loses and experiment against the best teams, not the worst.

The organization is clearly outdated, IMO. They're trailing and copying and playing catch up. It's like making slow adjustments to an old Camaro thinking it'll help it beat a Bugatti Veyron SS. They should have given away Sap and Jefferson to the highest bidder way before the trade deadline and moved on.

As far as #2 goes, I'm open to ideas but haven't found any solutions myself. The Jazz are limited at every single position.

The problem with this team starts and ends with Jefferson being their best player but not dominant enough to make Jeffyball a success. Thinking the lack of movement after dumping the ball into Jefferson is Corbin's fault as so many posters have claimed couldn't be further from the truth. Every coach in the league with a dominant big man did this with success: Popovich, Jackson, Rivers, Brown, Riley, Sloan. It's not Corbin's fault Al Jefferson is not good enough to dominate in his role. The team had to slog through that contract and there's nothing Corbin could have done to change that.

This is one of the best posts I have ever seen from franklin.... Seems genuine and not trying to troll.

Good idea right here.

That is why Jefferson is getting paid like he is.

Locke and Mahoney disagree about what disappointing means. I don't think anyone expected the jazz to win 50 games. Therefore, in terms of record, the jazz have not been disappointing. But, man, fighting for eighth seed 3 years in a row now with a rotation that can't ever be expected to do better than that? That's not just disappointing; that's depressing.

Locke was an idiot. Mahoney was just a guy talking on a radio show. He wasn't trying to debate Locke, so it is silly to criticize him for not debating better.

I felt, and still continue to feel, that this squad was capable of winning 50 games. I see this season as a season where the Jazz under performed.

We have a winner!

Yes we do bring in raw talent and they leave here a honed talent. There has to be something there and I am inclined to nod my head towards Corbin for that. However I am extrmemely frustrated with his rotations, in game adjustments and allocation of playing time.

What raw talent was brought in under Corbin and left a honed talent? I can't think of anyone.

All I can think of is Kanter, who gets the 11th most minutes, Favors, who gets the 7th most minutes and Hayward, whose development has gone so badly that Corbin has seen the need to DECREASE his minutes.

repped. the only thing I would add is that it is Corbin's fault for not adding some different stuff sooner, instead of waiting two seasons to see that Jeffyball was not cutting it to get into the top tier of the league. Should have seen that when Jefferson was in Minny, and was playing even better than he is now. To his credit though, most of us thought that Jeffy just needed a good coach and system, and he could be great.
