What's new

what identity do you want the jazz to have?

I want to see some damn emotion from these guys. I've watched the Burks and Kanter 2013-2014 top plays and after great plays the team looks like their dogs just died.

Look at this, no one gives Hayward props for this play and Kanter/Favors are stonefaced after the and-one. Stiemsma is the most fired up person on the court. I know there wasn't much to be excited by last year, but I want to see this team grow closer as a group and show some more emotion for each other.

That tends to happen when your coach is TC and your losing almost every game. Just isn't fun and turns into a job more then a game.

Take Sloan's offense and defense, add the three point game, and force them to wear headbands.

Boom. There's your identity.

I want our team to play like assholes. I want them to play dirty, in a sneaky way. I don't want teams to be excited to play us, I want them to dread it.

Call it physical, tough, gritty, whatever…I just want them to play like a bunch of assholes. Use those elbows and knees as much as they can.

passon and camaraderie.

i wish jazz plays with alot of heart and really be good teammates to each other. i want this team to be like a college team. i don't care about x's and o's anymore. i don't care about what offenses to run. we are not going to have a superstars. at least not yet. we are not the most desired FA destination. i want our players to love the game, and love each other. and really develop good chemistry. and when they look back they realize they had such a blast playing for jazz.

2004 Pistons.
"Going to work every day" was their motto, or something similar!
har-nosed, blue collar team with players having a "team first" mentality.

A small SEAL team working beyond enemy lines, kewl, professional, tough.
Enjoying immense firepower and members' roles are well rehearsed.
so noone hesitates but executes.

add-0n: on a personal note, this is my philosophy, too. Here and there I've lost battles, a plethora of them to tell the truth. I was robbed of a GREAT government post for example, for I chose not to enjoy clientel relations, which I could have easily managed to enjoy.
But in all those endavours and encounters, I have always gone down battling.
Did my best and went home with a clear conscience.
That is what I expect from my neighbours, relatives, my assistants.
You cannot always get it done. But if you give your 100% you will get it done most prolly.

Take Kanter for example. He doesnot have to block every shot but just TRY to move your *** and be there. pUSH SOMEONE, ELBOW that SOB if he is BULLYiNG OUR GUARDS, SHOW SOME PASSiON, ffs (mandatory caps lock fail)
If he can do that he will earn money and RESPECT.

i love 04 pistons. what a team. what a coach. what a chemistry. and a leader of men emerged that year - chauncey billups. that front court was so underrated too. back court was awesome. and tayshaun was sick defensively.

if trey burke can be a chauncey minime, i would be delighted. let's not forget it took chauncey a while to really 'get it'.

like bad boys? i would love to see that. but man, i think we don't have that ruthless killer like isiah. trey can't be that guy yet because trey hasn't earn that stripe. but wow, if we can have some nasty reputation, i would really love that. how awesome it would be if teams don't want to come to slc because they know it would leave a mark?

I would love a bad boys team but I don't think we have the players to do that.

favors, Hayward and burks are to passive.
