The following text is from Article XIII of the CBA in regards to circumvention:

Section 2. No Unauthorized Agreements.

(a) At no time shall there be any agreements or transactions of any kind (whether disclosed or undisclosed to the NBA), express or implied, oral or written, or promises, undertakings, representations, commitments, inducements, assurances of intent, or understandings of any kind (whether disclosed or undisclosed to the NBA), between a player (or any person or entity controlled by, related to, or acting with authority on behalf of, such player) and any Team (or Team Affiliate):

(i) concerning any future Renegotiation, Extension, or other amendment of an existing Player Contract, or entry into a new Player Contract;

(c) A violation of Section 2(a) or 2(b) above may be proven by director circumstantial evidence, including, but not limited to, evidence that a Player Contract or any term or provision thereof cannot rationally be explained in the absence of conduct violative of Section 2(a) or 2(b).

Ummm...they've all opted out. So they have no contracts. It's like Decision 1.0. Now they and their agents can all sit down and talk about new contracts.

Right, but the link I included infers that the Heat already had "the framework in place" to re-sign them all. So if opting-out was pre-planned, (i.e. they opted out after receving assurances from the Heat as to what their new contracts would be) they would be in violation of the CBA. The question becomes whether the players opted out unilaterally, or if they had any promises from the Heat prior to opting out.

LeBron James will have a completely different process and a different priority when he opens his free agency at midnight tonight that he did in 2010, sources told ESPN.com. Teams who contact James will be informed that he wants no less than the maximum salary number for next season, sources said. The max number is projected to be $22.2 million. In 2010, James accepted a pay cut when he signed with the Miami Heat, taking less than the maximum salary to help make space for other free agents. ESPN.com

If you disagree take it up with the media.

It is multiple media sources that have reported this, including talk right after he opted out and Wade and Bosh were still waffling.
OK, my source has told me LBJ will accept a deal for around $10M to play for Utah. He's just waiting for the Jazz to re-sign Hayward and bring in Marvin to play the stretch-4. He'll take what's left of our cap space. He can't sign the deal until July 10th because Utah has to renounce the contract rights to Biedrins, Jefferson and Rush. Miami is in talks to see if we'll give them anything other than a trade exception as compensation. Lindsey has been lukewarm to these talks since LBJ said he isn't about the money. He doesn't care if he makes $22M or $10M. He just loves the lifestyle he could have in the city of Utah - the emphasis on family, the mountains, the snow. And the inversion layer reminds him of the air in Cleveland.

It was a complete shock to both teams during draft discussions. Lebron, thinking he had graciously put Miami out of the running by demanding they draft Napier, was taken aback when Utah first offered to draft Shabazz for Miami. LBJ's agent quickly called Lindsey to tell him LBJ was planning to sign with Utah and they were mucking things up. Lindsey then phoned Miami to inform them they were drafting Hood instead.

You know what? You're right. I no longer believe that the Jazz reached out to Hayward last night, I no longer believe that the USA is in the boot round of the world cup either.

All we have to confirm this is media outlets and internet sites...
