Burks can make some nice layups against average defenses.

I'd rather have Trevor Ariza for the same price tbh.

*Not that I wouldn't like to have both, just don't like Burks as a starter if we actually get a good SF*

have liked ariza's game this year. definitely the better shooter and defender. he has 6 years on burks though. hes also playing 9 more minutes a game and shooting more than burks, to average the roughly the same amount of points. burks' ability to draw ft's is elite, one of the few traits of any of our young players that i can say with confidence as being such. if (<<big if>>) burks ever fixes his long range game he will be special (not that 35% from 3 is all that bad, but his 3 attempts have to increase, while keeping or improving that success rate).

that being said, i would love to see ariza on this team.

Which is why he is better off the bench. Hayward is the better overall player. It's not as close as some people like to think. Hayward is much much better.

i dont disagree, been one of the ones to stick by hayward through this mess of a season.

your original premise was that burks is not good as a starter, which is clearly unproven (not right or wrong, sample size is too small to know at this point)....

i still feel he would be just as effective as a starter as he is from the bench. would he get the ball enough to have the same impact? that remains to be seen, but efficiency-wise, i just dont see many who can stop him from doing what he does, crash into defenses and get to the line, and sometimes get the ball to go in, whether thats from the bench or starting.

No, unless you think you can design a top offense all around him. I don't think you can.

That is why I think he is best off the bench for the most part, even though I'd rather him start this year. You kind of saw it in the 3rd when Jefferson left early. I forgot Burks was on the court for a 6 minutes stretch. Burks also had a tougher time with Kanter and Favors in the game together.
