What's new

What Jan Vesely?

Watching his videos, I'm confused why more people(on the board) aren't taking Vesely at 3 seriously.

It has killed KOC to lose to the Laker's length year after year. After year. I bet he loves the sound of a 6-11 small forward.

Because he is an older prospect, and has no skills outside of being athletic. Joe Alexander was an athletic freak with no real basketball skills, taken 8th by the Bucks a few years ago. He dunked harder than Vesely ever dreamed of. Ask them how he is doing now...

So it's not just me everyone is waffling on who they want, makes me feel better.

I think it's funny that people are on the Vesely bandwagon. He was so last month.

Vesely is a lot bigger and he is doing pretty well in the Euro league. I don't Joe Alexander could score like Vesely does in the same league. But that is the fear I have, him becoming Joe Alexander.

Vesely definitely has the length and athleticism to get his shot off in different situations. The question is whether that is a good thing.

At this point, I'm becoming a bit indifferent... I could tolerate Kanter, Knight, even Biyombo at 3, assuming we can't get Williams. I used to be on the Vesely bandwagon when everyone was projecting Perry Jones at #4 in the draft. Now I'm not so sure. I think Biyombo is the better athlete that's just destined to kick a**.

I do think Hamilton would be a safe, solid pick at #12 though, and I'm wondering why Harrison Barnes was so special by comparison.

Unless Vesley has some sort of skyrocketing stock I'll be mad if the Jazz pick him at 3. That being said, I wouldn't mind at all if they traded down to 6 or so to get him. I like his talent.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel comfortable drafting a player with a girl's name. History shows they all become underachievers...Tracy, Sasha, Kelly, Penny, & Carlos.

"most of his points are off of dunks, put-backs and points in transition"

"mostly an energy player, getting the bulk of his points on hustle and broken plays"

"uncomfortable operating on the block as bigger defenders can easily body him and get him out of position"

"makes a lot of careless mistakes, either with errant passes or with missed assignments on the defensive end"
