1) Favors-elite ceiling for a big and just 20 years old
2) Burks-potentially elite ceiling for a wing
3) Jefferson-massive potential...this is his second and potentially final season for me here...he's been in the league long enough and if he can't show massive improvement in conditioning, defensive awareness and effort, and an ability to play team ball, he needs to go
4) Hayward-Too Big Yo
5) Harris-can he be our point guard? I highly doubt it but let's see how he does.
6) Kanter-we've already seen him a decent little amount and his time should be so limited (Jefferson, Favors, Millsap and maybe even Okur) that putting him higher makes little sense to me.
7) Millsap-how has his evolved this year?
8) Miles-has he bridged his relationship with Trout and eliminated chucking from his vocabulary?
9) Evans--has plastic man 2.0 truly developed his game?

I think Favors is the one that I am most interested in seeing this year. To see if he has developed like we hope he can.

'Only' 15 minutes? Wow--if a Jazz backup center actually averaged more than 5 to 7 minutes per game, maybe he could actually develop. What a concept.

How about actually contributing to the thread, as opposed posting yet another cynical anti-Sloan remark??? What a concept!

For the record, I simply cannot choose a specific player. There are way too many players that Im going to be seriously inspecting this season, whether its Al, Sap, or the youngins. Our team will be very exciting to follow (of us anyway) this coming season. Very stoked.
 
Favors, by far. He is the potential franchise player.
Kanter, just to see if he's all we were led to believe.
Burks, to see it he can shoot and play defense.
Hayward, last because I think he's the least to worry about.
 
I voted Burks. Unlike some other folks, I put a lot of stock on what David Locke says, and he has said multiple times that Burks has the stuff to become an all star. My biggest question is whether he'll have CJ's shot or Haywards shot. What I mean is this: CJ's shot changes from day to day, it's angle, the angle of his hips, it's release point. Sometimes it's unstoppable, sometimes it bricks like a badly coached jr jazz player. Haywards on the other hand is the same, day in and day out. Which type of shot will it be will determine his all star potential, because he already has the speed and athleticism to be a star.

Speaking of hayward, he'll be the best role player in the NBA. I don't see him becoming a star, he just doesn't quite have the tools for it. Now maybe if he puts on some muscle and learns how to dribble better with a great crossover, he may get there, but for now, his only real asset is his perfect shot (which is a great asset to have)

Favors has tons of talent, but so does Jake Heaps (yeah, football reference, but the analogy holds) My question on Favors is not on talent, but on his mind. His mindset for much of the season looked to me like the mindset of an abused wife (not funny, not supposed to be) After all the trade rumors and lack of support from the Nets, he was a broken man, and kind of played like it. He showed sparks, but I'm tired of sparks. Basketball is both physical and mental, and I want to see mental improvements from him. He needs to not only play well, but he needs to take the team on his shoulders and be a leader if he is going to be the superstar he is supposed to be.

As for Kanter; I accept the fact that he's not going to be dominant for a while, and with memo returning, he's going to get even less playing time that he was with Memo still questionable. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Memo coming back, if for nothing else to have him as a friend for Kanter (culture) and as someone to push Kanter to do better. Unfortunately, I can't get excited to see a player who likely won't play much till someone gets injured.

Whew, sorry for the long thread, but I've been thinking a lot about this.
 
Favors will be the first on my list. He's a freak, he looked huge at the charity game, and has the most potential to be overwhelmingly dominant. Corbin loves him and will give him solid minutes this season. I can't wait to watch him this year.

A close second is Hayward, only because I have a massive man crush on him and, like the rest of you, I want to see if he can pick up where he left off and improve, which I think he will.

Burks. I'm worried about his frame and his D, but I think he'll score like crazy if given the green light. Very excited to see what he's got.

Kanter should go to the DLeague. I don't see him performing well until at very least mid-season. With limited minutes, and barring injuries, I think the DLeague will do wonders for him.
 
Kanter and Favors...we passed up a LOT of players to get Kanter and we traded our best player since Stock and Malone retired for Favors. These guys better pan out.
