What's new

What should the FO do if we are 0.500 by January?

If you were put in charge of the FO, what would you do if the Jazz were 0.500 on January 1st

The thing that kind of sucks is that without Walker I don't see us being a legitimately good team that can make a first round series interesting, let alone win.

So unless we trade Walker for a replacement center (maybe Sabonis), we are probably at best getting swept by the Thunder, Nuggets, or Rockets.

This is my exact thoughts. If we did trade for some win-now star talent I’d almost try to include Walker in the deal.

I'm all for trading for some legit help, but playoffs would be awesome.

And no, we sure as hell wouldn't be swept by the freaking Rockets.

Would anybody trade the rights to our 2027 pick (top 4 protected) to OKC for the rights to our pick this year?
Maybe if the 9-12 pick this year might be better than the 2027 5-10 pick
But there are a lotta of what ifs here
What if Jazz do have a top 8 pick this year
If the 9-12 is better OKC would just say no

OKC would also be trading for the much higher likelihood of getting a pick from us in 2027. They might do that knowing if our pick lands in the top 8 this year, they don't get any pick from us at all.

Part of me hopes that if Austin effs this up that we somehow get into the first round against OKC and they can see just how far away they are. That would be a public execution.
