What's new

What should we do in the off season?

Trade Burke for Snell on Chicago.

Sign a vet PG.

Bring in a backup big.

Draft BPA.

Exum/Vet PG/Neto
Hayward/Burks/Millsap
Snell/Hood/Ingles
Favors/Booker
Gobert/Koufos

Toss in a draft pick. This would be a dangerous team next year. Playoff bound.

Snell? Seriously? I dont think that would be a smart idea.

I dont think drafting Snell would be a good idea. I like our team the way it is. All we need to do is bring in a good C, and a better shooter on the wings. Playoff bound.

Exum/Burke
Middleton/Burks
Hayward/Hood/Draft pick
Favors/Booker/Evans
Gobert/Tomic

So, you'd pay Middleton max money over Snell on a rookie deal? No thanks. By the way, Snell is a terrific shooter and a dedicated defender. In Feb, he shot 58% and 52% from three.

I think it's now fairly obvious the Jazz crucial needs for next season are a backup center and a solid backup point guard.

I feel bad for Trey and I like the guy and his attitude. I'm just worried that he's not an NBA player. the time for the Jazz to go for it is now and I think our wings are worth betting on. Trey? Unfortunately not.

Trade Trey to GS for Shaun Livingston and bring over Tomic.

Playoffs.

Go after a good vet pg. Not Jarrett Jack, but a Jarrett Jack type player. Great backup, but would be ok starting for stretches if there was injuries.

Get a 3rd/4th big that can play center.

Consider Green, or Middletton but both will probably be too expensive.

I think Livingston would be an amazing fit.

Honestly, I think our money is better spent on a back up PG and big, and allowing Alec and Hood to do their thing. Watching those 2 battle for the starting SG spot will be awesome.

As I mentioned on another thread, we need a starting shooting guard that can shoot the three point shot lights out. With the other players on the court, they don't even need to be the best defender. Before I would look at shoring up the bench, we need to find that player either through the draft, trade, or free agency.

Mrob is right. We need a starting SG. Our PG situation is fine. It's not amazing, but it's not our biggest need. If we can get a SG that is better than Burks...amazing.

I'd put SG #1.
I'd consider moving Burke to do that.
I'd put backup PG #2.
Backup C #3.
