What will it take for Joe to get his number retired?

Basically I feel pretty safe that Joe Ingles plans on playing for no franchise but the Jazz unless they were to trade him, which I think is pretty unlikely. I like Joes commitment to the franchise, I like how he has said he would have interest in working with the franchise beyond his playing career as a scout or something in Australia. I like that he’s been a grown up during a tough time. Joe honestly brings a lot of the successful culture the franchise and team has in my opinion—Favs was another huge part of that culture and we really miss him, and I really hope we can find a way to get Derrick back and he can finish his career here to and get his number retired as well as a side note—so I’m just wondering. We’re definitely not there yet, but what do you see beyond this that would be required to see Joe’s number retired with the franchise down the road?

I think we’ve had this discussion as well but as a follow up, who’s the next player that gets their number retired? May as well discuss that here too.

At this point, I think the Jazz will only retire jerseys of players who are perennial All Stars and who lead the Jazz to the NBA Finals.

For me, it would take another 3 to 5 years of productive play or 1 or 2 of him being clutch in the playoffs to make the Jazz's run deep.

His number would be retired because of his story, likability, and 3 record.

As much as I love Joe, he doesn’t deserve to have his number retired.

look at who is in, it’s not very many and there is a long list of players that have performed better not hanging from the rafters of the arena Joe is an important role player for the jazz. Everyone hanging from the rafters have done or achieved great things. Joe hasn’t. Him getting in would cheeped what it means to have your number hanging in the arena.

Horny is up there because he was that third component to go along side Stockton and Malone that finally got the latter two in the finals. The only way I imagine Joe getting in is if he’s instrumental in Utah winning a finals. Also Horny was a much better player than Ingles is now.
