Watching vids with my kids and came across this one. We had a good discussion. What would you do?

If the businessman was really hurt I'd take his money. I wouldn't go near the homeless guy because he probably smells like pee.

I wouldn't discriminate. I'd put a boot to both their heads, because people have always kicked me when I'm down, and I believe in paying it forward.

The prank/experiment in the video isn't done very well in my opinion. I would probably help both but I definitely understand why some people were hesitant to help the homeless dude especially the women, but except the stupid teenagers who walked by him like nothing happened.

But as for the question of the video, does appearance matter? Of course it does. Last month or so, I went to a bank on two different occasions, once wearing a sport t-shirt and once wearing a suit. At the first one, the woman in the bank looked at me in a manner like she didn't care much and asked me like, "What do you want (kiddo)?". However at the second one, the same woman(didn't even recognized me) looked at me and immediately welcomed me with a smile and talked to me with fancy words and used turkish honorifics all the time like Mr Sir etc in English. I felt like a rich douchey. :D

And I treated her very kindly as well, even the first time to be honest. Because her appearance was simply gorgeous.

Echo what ECTYA said. I don't blame the women for not helping the homeless guy, but the men and teens who kept on walking make me wonder how they were brought up. I'm pretty confident and happy to say that I can't think of one person that I associate with (that isn't family -- because they're all dicks) that wouldn't have stopped and helped the homeless guy up. Say what you want about America (because most of it is true), but I think you'd have different (more positive) results if this experiment was done throughout the US.

I had a similar experience at a car dealership. Dressed in athletic shorts and shirt, no one approached me. Went back a few days later in pants and a collared shirt, was promptly welcomed. Granted, maybe the sales staff was blinded by my white skin and knobbly knees the first time.

I don't exactly like these types of experiments. Unless you get the same people walking by both the homeless guy and the business guy, it's not a true reflection of the people.
