I'm not trying to brag on myself but I had some UGLI Baby on tap the same time I tried the Pliney the Elder and after I drank some of the PTE I had to get a sample of UGLI Baby so I could tell them apart. Now, drinking them side-by-side, it isn't hard to tell them apart. PTE was a better beer. Finer. But they were pretty similar to me. Obvious both use a lot of Amarillo hops.

I was most excited for the Timothy Taylor Land Lord. It is essentially the most highly regarded Bitter in England. Turns out I really don't care for it much. It might have been old as hell and it's a beer served as a "real ale" https://www.camra.org.uk/en_US/about-real-ale so maybe I just didn't have a good representation of what it was. If I found myself in England I'm sure I'd give it another go. But it was kind of like seeing your idol acting like a prick to a handicapped kid for me. I had such high hopes.

Haha, twice. The fact that you don't know this surprises me.

Turns out, it's ****ing amazing.

I just made a yeast starter tonight with the intention of making my second batch of #9. If you're trying to talk me out of it you're doing a good job.

EDIT: I actually bought this yeast intending to make the third batch of UGLI Baby but after seeing how good UK was doing I decided to make #9. I could always go back to my original plan.

Oh, and UGLI Baby is as much a tribute to Hot Rod as it is to UGLI (who's name is a tribute to Hot Rod). If you don't know, I love Hot Rod.

UGLI Baby is an imperial IPA using mostly Amarillo hops and an abv over 9%.
