What's up with Memo?

As I've said for over 2 years now:

Mehmet Okur is GARBAGE.

He was incredibly mediokur to begin with. Was never a fan. As others have said, "trade Memo for a box of peanuts." Yeah, the other team is getting screwed, but we get something to snack on while also getting rid of that garbage. Win-win.
 
...what's up with Memo? Let me count the ways! He's slow, overpaid, can't jump, can't defend, his shot has gone south, he's got a bad back, he's got a bad achiles....an untradeable contract.....and a low tollerance for pain! He's bascially a white elephant, an albatross, a millstone around our neck! One thing I like about him? Few, if any.....jailhouse tats!

I dislike every single one of your posts and you irritate me to no end. I've also neg repped you plenty of times, but that deserves a pos rep. Congrats for breaking the streak.
 
Here's something memo can do that most other jazz players can't: make a shot from 8 feet out and longer. I thought he was starting to look promising before the back issue, now I don't know if he'll ever be right again. Which is really sad to me. I root for him to get well.
 
Other than a healthy DWill, Memo is the best jump shooter on the Jazz roster. His defense against bigger Centers is also better than anyone else on the current Jazz roster. No, he's not a shotblocker or quick enough to guard quicker players, but does impede guys from camping out in our paint for easy shots. Not a bad set of attributes; we sure could use him on the court.
 
If he really is done, which I fear is the case, and only has next year left on his deal, can we buy him out if he retires, or how does that work?

Agreed.
Finally, someone with intelligence of the game has comments about Okur.
 
The outrageous AK contract was the worst move KOC has ever made, but the Memo contract extension is a very close second...
