I was actually thinking this may be a decent idea.
I really believe that it came from Hood's side. If the Jazz are looking to trade him it makes little sense to let it get out in the media at this point. But Hood's team leaking it makes it more likely that the Jazz are forced to make a move. Also TJ has reportedly much better relationships with players and agents than FO people.Maybe Hood wants out, his people leaked the news to pressure the Jazz, but the Jazz want to retain him and they asked Locke to play it down? Pure speculation here, clearly. Locke's tone was just weird (even for him).
If it doesnt put them over the top it is pointless and they wont do it. They have made that very clear. They are going to use that pick to rebuild. They wont want to win in the next couple years. They will want lottery picks and young players. Also that pick again could be better than 10. They could get lucky and draft their next franchise player of the future if it gets into the top 3.
Lmao. Stop it.I do think that Favors and Hood would be a great fit with Cleveland. It would refresh the roster. I just feel that Cleveland wants to keep any current valuable player. Crowder could be very valuable come playoff time and it would be silly to trade him for Favors and/or Hood this soon. I just feel like this trade is so much better for Cleveland:
Frye, Osman, Calderon and Brooklyn's 1st
for
Favors and Hood
The Brooklyn 1st probably won't end up being better than a top 10 pick. Hood by himself is worth a top 10 pick in my opinion to a team like Cleveland who will pay whatever it takes to keep a contender around LeBron. A rookie vs a 25 year old averaging 16 per game - LeBron takes the 25 year year old every single time.
yeah, I listened to it this morning. Locked was a bit douchy, throwing Tony under the bus. There are several reliable sources confirming the Jazz is actively looking to trade Hood (and no, is not only semantics as Locke suggested). He will be traded if there is a good offer on the table
And Mitchell!
Jazz are always very quiet when it comes to trade discussions.. DL translates to "Down Low." So I'm sure the Hood leak did not sit well with Utah and Locke, as Lindsey's media lackey, went into full-on damage control. I'll bet the leak came from Hood's agent. He wants to force a trade. Remember, nothing happened with Kanter until Enes and his agent went public. I'll bet Hood has been asking for a trade since the day Quin sent him to the bench. I would in his position; he wants to get paid and he's not going to be valued as highly as a 6th man.
Hood being a RFA is going to diminish his value - he'll be very expensive to keep. But I think Jazz can at least get a late first for him. What contender wouldn't want a scoring wing? Would a pick in the 20's be enough for Chicago to then trade Mirotic?
Youre an idiot if you think an expiring Favors and Hood is the best they can get for that brooklyn pick.I don't think they put them over the top. I do think its the best they can do with a #10 pick and worthless players. Frye, Osman and Calderon are not any kind of a solution. #10 in 2018 doesnt help Cavs win for 2 years.
Adding two starting quality NBA
players for #10 is good business when you have the best player on the planet.

geez you need to listen to some of the other teams announcers.Locke is one of, if not the biggest douches in all of sports media.
Maybe, but that is not any of the news leaking out about what Cavs are planning. I posted the link where they talked about it in great detail. They are pretty adamant they are not trading that pick unless it nets them a player that Lebron demands and Lebron agrees to return for at least one more year. You can convince yourself of quite a bit when you are about to lose Lebron. When you look back at the HAyward thing it was pretty clear that he was likely gone, but DL still did all this stuff to try to keep him. I agree that from the outside it looks like Lebron is certainly leaving, but maybe from the inside they believe they can do enough to keep him there.
Locke's ok on his game calls and about 75% of the time he's fine in his podcast. But he can be a gigantic douche, and a pretty transparent shill when he desires.geez you need to listen to some of the other teams announcers.
Yeah I guess we'll see how much of that is posturing when they can't get one of those guys. Maybe Lebron subtly hints he would like some more help after a loss and they cave. It's happened before although with a different GM.Maybe, but that is not any of the news leaking out about what Cavs are planning. I posted the link where they talked about it in great detail.
