What's new

Where is that pit bull thread when I need it?

Non-story. The only reason it was written was so the writer could use the words pit and bull in the headline.

In other news, a pitbull growled at someone today. They left the scene before cameras could arrive, but reports say it really scared them and they may have fallen down. Stayed tuned for further updates.

So what makes theirs so special to get written about in the paper?

An attack by poodles is unremarkable because it never ends in maiming or death. An attack by a pit bull however could end up either or both.

It's like complaining about a robbery story involving guns where a robbery not involving guns goes unnoticed.

If this attack ended in injury or death I could understand your point. But this attack didn't have any serious injuries. So it's really no different than a poodle attack.

People die every day, yet only the ones who are in serious car accidents, or are murdered appear in the paper. Again, what's your point?
Not true. Everyone gets an obituary in the paper, no matter how they die.

Even so, maybe we should read more about important news and less about dog bites that don't result in serious injury. The fact that a pit bull did the biting doesn't make it anymore news worthy.

If someone gets killed or seriously injured, okay, that's news. If someone gets bit but not seriously injured, big deal, it happens multiple times every day.

Gotta watch out for pomeranians. I had no idea we had 2 killers in my house.

An uncle baby-sitting the newborn left the child on a bed unattended while he went to the kitchen to prepare a bottle for her, Solis said. When he returned, he found the family's Pomeranian dog on the bed attacking the baby, Solis said.

Well the media has proven beyond a doubt that pitbulls are the only dogs that ever bite people.
