Dalamon, it's nice to see someone else with a good nose here. I've sampled a few Tom Ford's and I'm with you on the Tobacco Vanille. It's a classic scent. I have a small decant that still has a small amount left. I'm waiting for the Fall to finish her off. I'm crazy busy right now, but if you want, PM me your address and I'll send you some Aventus to try out when I get a chance.

Tell Gyp that I'm not well-versed enough with my fragrances to be able to confidently give him one cologne to choose.


To me, if you're looking for a fragrance that you can wear any season, any occasion, it would typically be something more on the mild side. Something that smells good, but something that isn't overly aromatic. There are many colognes that fit this description-- personally, I'll just go over the one that I stumbled upon



Of the colognes I have used personally , Acqua Di Gio-- despite myself admittedly having grown bored of it-- is very damn versatile. It's not strong, lasts a while, smells great, and it doesn't have an atrocious price figure. I'd say its quite a good beginner cologne. Then, I find its a little easier to move on, in the direction of what you desire (more strong, less strong, etc).



I think someone like PKM and Margo could be better sources of advice for you, Gyp, particularly because they have used colognes in a similar setting to something that you could relate to. When I select cologne, Im only taking my 19 year old self into account-- so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I'm truly flattered. Thank you. I imagine that you're very busy-- so ill respectfully pass on your offer on accepting the Aventus. The thought alone is greatly, greatly appreciated. Well, unless I can't get it in Canada-- in which case ill be firing you a PM promptly thereafter :)


I fully plan on checking this fragrance out within the next couple of weeks, and ill let you all know what I think.

I'm admittedly a bish when it comes to fashion, and fragrance-selecting. Oh well.
 
I'm in my kitchen right now and tried dabbing a bit of vanilla extract on my wrists. Not bad. I sort of smell like dessert. The mint extract was pretty good too, though it smells a bit too much like mouthwash.

My favorite cologne for a while has been Geir. It's imported from Norway and its great for all genders. But Nordstrom's the only place that carried it, and they haven't had it in stock lately.

Which is why I've had to resort to what's in my kitchen cabinet.
;)
