What's new

who around here is going to the games?

It shouldn't last forever. Is she on a lot of solid foods? That's usually the best solution. Some children just won't eat anything but a bottle until old enough to understand being forced.

She eats full meals like everyone else. She has not has a bottle since she was 1. Last night she had pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn.

your kid sounds awesome.

All of my kids are being raised to be independent. She has a strong personality and can often be heard telling off the dogs if they bug her. She will come to me and ask for juice in her sippy. 10 minutes later I find her in a bean bag, with sippy, "blankie", her Disney princesses and my kindle fire. Watching YouTube videos.

I'll walk in on her and she will smile and say "bye daddy". So I leave her be.

Based on this thread, it sounds like it's time for Stoked and family to start driving to the game + make this the game thread. Someone text mellow and get franklin on site. Partay.

My sons all hide under blankets and in closets to jerk off. At least my oldest gave it up before something started squirting out. My five year old, well, I'll be a grandparent in 6-7 years...

My oldest (13) gives me this worry. She has not decided which way she is going to go yet. I can see her pregnant at 14 or a celibate till she marries. She has an all in personality and its up in the air which way it goes right now.

Good call on daycare. These two are gonna be running us almost $2,500 a month combined on it. Man, once they both are gone it'll be like found money. Ths ****ty thing is, I think MsSerp wants a third.

Oh I know she is way under the recommended level. But she is fine. I have no explanation for why she is not a homicidal maniac.

This. I need my sleep.

Honestly. About 60% of my douchey posts over the years here can probably be attributed to lack of sleep.

Yep. Little Serp has, like most babies I would think, been eating real **** since she turned one. Chicken, Pork, Spaghetti, mac and cheese...you name it...lots of pure fruits and veggies...and Goldfish. Forget about it. Those things are like crack to her.

By the weekend I am so worn down...

We have tried movies, no movies, night lights, total darkness, dogs in her bed, not in her bed, in a room with a sister, in a room with her baby brother, in a room by herself, drinks and snacks at bed time and without. Nothing changes her sleep pattern. I refuse to bring her into bed with my wife and I. I will wait it out till she is old enough and I don't have to be alert anymore.

At this point I just accept that this is her and find ways to make it doable.

Probably just the way she's wired. Teach her like crazy and in a couple of years she can do all the house chores and then some. You may have to pay her $100 or so a month but **** it, it'll be worth it. There's no price one can put on sleep.

A typical day for Little Serp:

4 mini-pancakes, 4 oz milk
Cheese stick, Grapes, 4 oz milk
PB&J sandwich, raisins, 4 oz milk
Blueberries, raisins, puffs, 4 oz milk
Dinner (whatever we eat-meat, veggie, starch), 4 oz milk
Pretzels and/or Goldfish, 4 oz milk

Seriously, we're all complaining, for lack of a better word, about ****, but parenthood is amazing. I love my daughter more than words can express and am so excited to see what life brings for her.

amen. I wouldn't trade my girls and son for anything. Watching them grow, learn and explore. Their like and dislikes. How they are all alike and yet dramatically different.
