Yes, I saw you chatting it up with Jody Gennesy at halftime, I waved, but....

AwesomeSo this morning I walk out and my 2 year old had decided she didn't want to sleep in her bed. I found her asleep (after the wife getting up with her 3-4 times) in our halfway. She had taken her stool across the house with all the lights off, opened the linen closet, put her stool down and climbed up and grabbed a blanket we use for guests. Dragged that back to the hallway and laid down on her back, covered herself, crossed her ankles and put her hands behind her head and went to sleep. Like a boss.
CL & Stoke,
I had a bad sleeper. It nearly killed me. That time of my life is a huge blur. I am a lite sleeper, so I would hear the kid and wake up, even if I had only slept 8 hours in three days. It strained my marriage, my career, my health, and maybe my sanity. I drank Mtn dew and Pepsi to stay awake at work, I gained thirty pounds and lost most of my hair. I posted angry scathing garbage on jazzfanz (it coincided with drafting Hayward and the Deron Williams debacle)
The kid is older now, and a much better sleeper. For instance, Last night the alarm on the kids tablet device goes off at 4:30 am, and the kid never even Woke up, even when I went in and tore the bedroom apart looking for that &$@!? Device. Nor did the kid stir when the device went off again at 5:30.
I'd like to give you more encouragement, but I need to go find another Mtn dew.
This is my problem. I hear her all night long and am constantly waking up. She is independent and not afraid of the dark, at all, but she is still only 2. I have found her in the fridge getting cheese and hot dogs, pantry, bathroom washing her hands, playing with the dogs, waking up her sisters to play a game, picking a new movie for me to put in the DVD player for her.
Last week she came into my room with her stool, used it to reach the light switch, says "good norning, i'm awake" (she says norning not morning) walked to my night stand took my kindle, turned off the light, grabbed her stool and shut the door. I got up to she what she was doing. She was in front of the Christmas tree (lights on), with her bean bag chair, "blankie", a hot dog, cheese and my tablet.
At this point my wife and I swap nights to handle her and take naps on the weekend. Hopefully she starts sleeping more soon.
I have typed numerous posts on here, in my irritable sleep deprived state, going off on people only to delete them because I'm a mod.
Wait, how does she even reach a sink to wash her hands?
And cook a hot dog?
That said, my daughter sleeps well actually. Goes down around 9pm and wakes up at 7:15am. She'll sometimes cry in the middle of the night for about 45 seconds (I think when she loses her paci)...I had it rough last February-June though when she would get up a lot. One night I got 45 minutes sleep because my bladder was an issue and she was up a lot. That sucked big time. I sucked it up and went to work and thank God, the next night, she slept through the night.
Good luck guys. I'm sure it will get better.
