The DLeage Select Team is 2-0 in the Vegas Summer League. They beat the clippers today and Junior Sapp had 21 points and 7 boards. The impressive thing was that he got to the foul line 20 times. The little point guard that had 20+ in the first game had 14 points and 4 assists. BYU's Davis had 7 points for the Clipps.

Depending where he lands he could increase his value with a good season. I really liked his sound decision making in summer league. One of the few who didn't need ritalin to stop them from jacking up shots out of isos. His height maybe scared a cpl teams away.

After being good his first game I thought he kind of hid the following ones.
 
Really wished we would have nabbed Buycks.

Christmas had a solid Vegas Summer League with Phoenix although he choked in the championship game still averaged in double figures. I think there were several players on the DLeague team starting with their point guard who could earn a spot to camp. Also Ian Clark has been mentioned but he reminds me of Andre Owens. Plus Clark is probably looking for a guarantee. A guy I liked and I doubt if the Heat will part with him is Jarvis Vernardo. The guy's stats weren't great but he plays nasty.

McNeal still counts as 13 the league minimum. He played in Orlando with a bad knee (MCL strain) that should be healed up by camp. Remember he is Marquette's all team leading scorer over guys named Wesly Matthews and Dwayne Wade.

I'm just saying now that the Jazz have signed Clark, that makes 13 guaranteed contracts. McNeal will be the 14th player. IIRC, his contract is only partially guaranteed. So he has to play well enough to convince DL and TY they should go with 14 players. I think they will...at least until Marvin is able to play.

You're right. I miscounted and forgot about Marvin. I would say the Clark signing makes McNeal a goner. Junior Miller isn't going to pay a non guarantted guy particularly if this is really tank.

IINM, Jazz would have until the end of December to waive McNeal. After that all contracts become "guaranteed" (except for 10-day contracts). That roughly coincides with the timeline for Marvin's return. Jazz may want to just have 13 players heading into the trade deadline in case they find deal(s) which require them taking back multiple players for the big expiring contract(s) of Beidrins, Jefferson or Williams.
