Who Gets Invited to Training Camp?

It's slow but we know JJ OBrien will be there and that Motum and Hanlan will not. Who else gets to come and work out to make 20?

Roster is pretty much set except for deciding who gets cut between Cooley and Johnson. With Exum hurt, there's no way the Jazz release a PG. So does it really matter who comes to camp? I guess there's a slight chance the Jazz cut Cooley and someone beats out Johnson for that last spot.

What other points could get invited to training camp?

How about Diante Garrett. Nate Wolters has signed with an European team. Garrett appears to be out there and was serviceable season before last. Patrick Cunningham while not a point did have his moments in Summer League and is a former first round pick.

I think so-- I think I saw somewhere that Dante might not need to miss the entire entire season.

Yes he does count as one of the 15. There is no injured list anymore unless the team has so many players hurt that the league will waive the 15 limit and allow them to sign some players so they can suit up 8 which I think is the league minimum.

This was the Jazz training camp roster in 2006-07.

So...

Exum-Burke-Neto-Cotton
Hood-Burks-Millsap
Hayward-Ingles
Favors-Booker-Lyles
Gobert-Pleiss

That's 14 and for roster flexibility and trading purposes, I'd be surprised if we kept anyone else. I'm actually surprised people here are talking about it as if it's a foregone conclusion that we will in fact. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense IMO.

I can't remember if JazzFanz existed back then or if it was still Jazzhoops.net but I remember how annoyed everyone was that Palacio and McLeod played over D-Will.

Locke mentioned Chris Johnson on TIPP-OFF... question was, who plays more: Ingles or Millsap. He answered Ingles, but said at end of year maybe Johnson plays more than both...

Wonder if Johnson is being seen as a serious wing... 3&D? Thoughts?

Johnson does have quite a bit of experience in the league usually on 10 day contracts. He was with the Jazz, then the Bucks, then later the Jazz for the rest of the year. He looked OK in summer league. That's quite a few 3s to have on the roster with AB, GH, Little Sap, Jingles, Rodney and maybe Chris.

Jared Cunningham just signed with the Cavs and with the Jazz signing of Treveon Graham there might be one or two camp spots left.
