Who replaces Korver as the 3 point specialist?

Korver is regarded as one of the deadliest 3-point shooters in the NBA, and therefore commands tremendous respect. Defenses change when he takes the floor and opens up other opportunities for his teammates. Korver is very deadly if left open, but once guarded closely, is far less dangerous, and is not that great at putting it on the floor and driving.
Raja is more of an overall scoring threat than Korver. Hayward appears to also have those same skills, and is excellent driving to the basket and drawing fouls.
Between the two of them, we will be fine w/o Korver, IMO.

In general, Sloan's attitude toward the 3 varies with his team's speed and ability to get back on defense. At least that's the way I understand his statements on the question.

Sorry, have to disagree... Sloan's attitude toward the 3 has never 'varied' with anything. He's never been a fan of it, and every statement he has made regarding the 3 ball supports this fact. I like that Jerry is 'old school' in many ways... but this is NOT one of them. The 3 point shot is a much bigger factor than it used to be, and Sloan refuses to move beyond his own antiquated views on this matter.

While Korver's presence on the court was enough to spread the defense and bust the zone, he was never fully allowed to do what he does best, and that was a shame. The Korver 'replacements' will certainly manage to cover his points, but I'm still unsure of the respect any of those guys will command from behind the 3 point line... aside from Raja (to some extent). Sloan will never change his views of the 3 point shot... "take 'em, but you better make 'em", so the Jazz will never take a lot of 3's, but having a 'sharp-shooting 3 point specialist' on the court made a big difference for the offense.

So, I think the real question in this thread isn't about who will make up for Korver's actual shooting (points), but who will make up for the 'threat' of shooting? Right now, I think Raja is the only one who comes close... everyone else is unproven.

Its more important to have a slew of good 3 point shooters rather than one specialist. I think right now, we have 3 guys who are capable of shooting 40% from the 3 (hopefully CJ can get that one year). AK is still our bad shooter, but you can have 1 wing who is like that.

AK shot the ball very well in a few stretches during the season. You could tell when he was working w/ Jeff H and when he wasn't.

.

This is ridiculous. Someone forgot to watch the jazz play past year. Seriously.

He is streaky, but if we can get 35% out of him from 3, that is considered great for him. He will always be a sub-par shooter no matter how much he works with Jeff.

I am more concerned about the plays where they have the shooters coming around the screen to the top of the key. That used to be Harprings shot then it was Korvers and now it will be Haywards.

Korver is overrated. He didnt take that many 3pt shots. WHen he beat Steve Kerr for the 3P% record this year he shot about 80 3pointers less than him.

Bell/Miles/Hayward will do fine.

Its not like our gameplan is like the PHX Suns.
