I voted Udoka/Shaq. Although I don't think he's the next Shaq (that's a lofty wish) I don't think he's comparable to Favs. It's tough to find a comparison as there aren't many athletic 7'0" guys who are also physically imposing (270 pounds) and tough.

A lot of the players who were 7'0" and weighed 270 were overweight (Eddy Curry, Kevin Duckworth).

I can’t decide yet. I’ve never watched Udoka, but I like what I see in highlights. He’s big athletic and coordinated. If this were the 90’s I’d be calling championship at the top of my lungs. But in today’s game they need to do more than sit in the paint on both sides of the court.

I never heard of Hughes before the draft. Somehow I missed him when looking at who I thought the jazz might draft.

Dok imo but I think he’s a 10 year career guy. Look he’s a better prospect than Tony was but Tony was a ****** prospect. I think even if it’s just as a backup Dok will be in the league a while. I’d throw out some comparisons but don’t want to be accused of racialism. Brook Lopez without the shooting maybe is a good safe comp.

He will get three years of runway here whereas if Hughes doesn’t contribute his contract is only two years and he may be headed to Europe. Next year might be sink or swim for him.

Udoka was 260 at the combine.

I’d like to see Quin run a lineup of shooter/Bojan/Favors/Udoka/Gobert.

Yup, I think the PG you want is Joe Ingles. Bojan at the 2, Favors playing 3, Udoka at PF, and Gobert at the 5. Just play it for 5 minutes - I just want to see it either crash or fly - but I think in certain matchups it could be useful.

Both are low ceilings and low floor type of guy. Have the potential to be career journeyman. Could also bounce out of the league in two years in worst scenario.

Based on watching several minutes of video and my gut feeling I’ve decided to have unrealistically high expectations for Hughes.
