Considering trade rumors and players on the block who would you rather see playing sf for the jazz?

All these player are available
Marvin Williams the jazz already have and he has an option for next year. Big disappointment but will 1 more year revel anything for him.
Rudy gay see all the other gay threads. He might be expensive to get and expensive to keep.
Danny granger a history of injuries but at his price needs to be moved for George to shine. Good defender and decent 3 pt shooter.
Wilson chandler again injury concerns but is buried in Denver. What would you give to get him and would they ship him to Utah in their division?

It's a non issue.
Marvin won't opt out. So we're stuck with him for 1 more year.

Marvin, he is the cheapest option (besides a player in next draft). He is a good defender, can hit the 3, doesn't complain. Solid role player. The rest of the options are mediocre 2nd options.

Some dude in next draft would be Poythress (disappointment thus far) or Porter (I like him, but his last two games have softened my stance on him).
Or we could just say Hayward at SF, and Burks at SG. Which is what I would choose if it were an option.

I like the idea of having Hayward and Burks starting next year, but until they are vets and their ceiling is low they won't start

PG we get via trade
Burks
Hayward
Kanter
Favors
I want this ine up to play as starters at least one season, 32 mins average each.
Other than that, I would prefer Granger.

Hayward is getting better and better as a SF. Give him a little time. When he has played with Burks and Foye he is playing SF and his rebounding numbers gave not been too bad in those games.

I wouldn't bet on that - Marvin's minutes are decreasing rapidly. He's down to 22mpg over the last 10 games - and with Burks' recent release from prison that could decrease even more.
Staying in Utah may hurt Marvin's market value long term - other players have sacrificed short term money for longer deals. I could see Marvin opt'ing out and getting a 4 year mid level type deal.

I like Marvin, just not at his contract. He is good on D and can at times have a hot hand. I think a lot of it is the coach misusing him

His contract doesn't bother me at all. His contract run out in time for Hayward and Favors extensions to kick in. That is what worries me more than anything else.
Also I do think that he is being misused, but so is everyone not named Big Al.

Not really fair to compare Marvin right now because of the knee, and I bet that the knee has been a problem for longer than we know. I still remember the first few games when he looked like a star.
But is he Harpring? Does he have toast knees early in his career? Is it surgery time? Knees are such a big problem and if he goes in for surgery then he is even more likely to opt in so....

Gordon's rebounding per 36 by years. 4.1, 4.1, 4.0; defensive rebounds: 2.9, 3.1, 2.9; offensive rebounds: 1.2, 1.1, 1.0. Every Jazz fan is optimistic that Gordon will improve every aspect of his game, but he has shown 0 variance in rebounding rate over the last 2.5 seasons so far. Maybe he will, but I would rather have him at the 2 with a very good rebounder at the 3. I personally am skeptical of Burks and think he should be a bench player for quite some time. I don't think he's the 2 of the future, but who knows.
I don't really see a point in him being a 2 because he just doesn't take advantage of size mismatches at all. He has to have the worst post game I have ever seen.
I agree with this to a certain extent. Truth is, he has deficiencies at both positions. He could score a lot of points if he had a post game (I don't think he's ever tried to develop it much). For me it comes down to what he lacks at both positions. His rebounding is middle of the road for a 2, but nearly dead last for a 3. He has problems on defense with very explosive/powerful 3's, and he also struggles with very small and fast 2's but can often make up for it with blocks, i.e., his size. His handle is suspect at times and he has no post game and he doesn't get in the passing lanes that well. Overall I think he gives us more advantages at the 2 because his rebounding is so bad at the 3. This is not a small matter since teams with bad defensive rebounding are usually never Playoff teams unless they have incredible scorers to offset it.

ive alwasy bee na huge fan of danny granger. i think he would be really great in a utah system... in order to have that system jefferson would need to go. having an alstar sf and jefferson just wouldnt work. jefferson needs the offence ran though him to be productive. gay is the same way so i think danny would be the best option, but jefferson would have to be traded to make it work.
Me too, but he is getting up there in years and is injury prone. I would take him if we could get him on a Marvin Williams contract.
