The relevant stuff from the FIBA rulebook:

www.fiba.com/asp_scripts/downMana.asp?fileID=1260

A dribble starts when a player, having gained control of a live ball on the playing court, throws, taps, rolls, dribbles it on the floor or deliberately throws it against the backboard and touches it again before it touches another player. A dribble ends when the player touches the ball with both hands simultaneously or permits the ball to come to rest in one or both hands. During a dribble the ball may be thrown into the air provided the ball touches the floor or another player before the player who threw it touches it again with his hand. There is no limit to the number of steps a player may take when the ball is not in contact with his hand.

EDIT:

And here's the NBA definition of ending a dribble:

https://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_4.html?nav=ArticleList

Section III-Dribble
A dribble is movement of the ball, caused by a player in control, who throws or taps the ball into the air or to the floor.
a. The dribble ends when the dribbler:
(1) Touches the ball simultaneously with both hands
(2) Permits the ball to come to rest while he is in control of it

(3) Tries for a field goal
(4) Throws a pass
(5) Touches the ball more than once while dribbling, before it touches the floor
(6) Loses control
(7) Allows the ball to become dead

So Deron after all travelled because he definately "Permitted the ball to come to rest while he is in control of it" (c)NBA and "permitted the ball to come to rest in one or both hands"(c)FIBA

I'd argue it wasn't at rest. Ball was always moving except the small time the ball is at its apogee.

I'm with you on this. I saw the comments on youtube and watched a few times. Not a travel in my book.

If I want, I can bounce the ball (high), run 10 steps into the backcourt to git my lost shoe, run back 10 steps after the ball has bounced a few times, and keep on dribblin. Aint no travel. I can't see why anyone would think this was a travel to begin with.

Good sig there, btw, eh, Game?

Deron involved with the quick score, the steal, then the game-winner. After the game I think Sloan should've ran out and hugged him on the court and said "Oh my gosh that was beautiful! What a finish!"
