Why didn't Utah sign Gallo?

If he wanted it he would have waited. He didn't want it.

Remember what happened to Millsap. He waited around for Utah to make up their mind. The money dried up and he had to settle for $8m.

The big contracts get tossed around the first 2-3 days, then teams run out of cap space. If I'm Danilo, I don't wait to be anyone's Plan B. As soon as I'm offered a huge contract, I take it. Sorry, Utah, I'm signing today. Cuz if Hayward returns, I don't have a Plan B that will pay me wha LA is offering right now.

Yep, this. Even if Hayward didn't sign with the Jazz, who is to say that the jazz do not acquire Crowder in a sign and trade, leaving you out in the cold? You get a deal that you like, you take it and not wait on something you hope will be better. Unless it is a special situation (like teaming up with Labron on the Heat) you get it done ASAP.

You mean stepping almost perfectly into a role that generated an all star appearance for its former occupant, with every single other position playing plus defense to take the pressure off of your supposed weakness, and getting a new point guard that was going to not only give you a lot of his shots, but was going to expertly set you up for those shots. Yeah, why would anyone want something like that?

Yeah. LA offered and he wished for Utah but settled for LA because of the money. Yup.

Both Miami and Utah wanted him. He had a ton of options. He wanted LA the most.

Delay or not, if the Jazz were serious about him or Otto Porter, they should have had him in Salt Lake on July 4th. Don't wait to see how everything turns out before making your pitch. I'm not sure that they were ever really serious about either guy.

I’m no expert but I feel like bringing in Hayward’s possible replacement while you know he’s on the fence, wouldn’t be a good idea. Obviously in hindsight it doesn’t matter, but at the time it doesn’t send a good message to your number 1 target.

Could the Jazz have done more? Possibly, but Hayward put them in a huge bind. The Jazz should have extended him on a 5 yr. when they had the chance, and should have been talking to him a lot more past season to see what he was thinking (maybe they did). But with Haypoo jackpotting around, the Jazz were ****ed.

I’m not saying they could have done more. In fact, all I’m saying is that, I feel bringing in Gallo for a meeting could be seen as doing less to try and keep Hayward.

Because Haywood was too busy writing his love letter to Brad. Gallo agreed with LAC before Haywood got done with the love letter.

Gallinari breaks his hand after throwing a punch in an exhibition game with the National Team.

I can't believe Jazz fans seriously want Gallinari for the money he's making. There will be great bargains next summer. Traiturd left the Jazz in a real hole. Hard to get serious about Porter when Washington made it clear they would match any offer.

Gallo at his current contract is worth it... if he stays healthy which has been a problem and he is starting out on the wrong foot.

That's been the problem, along with questionable effort on the defensive end. DL was definitely working on Gallo or Porter on the 4th. Wasnt he coming back from the EC when he officially heard the news about Hayward?
