What's new

Why doesn't Favors have a go to move?

After watching his insane improvement in such a short window over the 2nd half last season, I have plenty of hope. I'm not expecting any type of back to the basket improvement this season, but I'd love to see a semi-reliable 8-12 foot jumper and a lot of improvement on recognizing and finishing the PnR. Anything that makes me believe he's on some sort of an Amare track.

Wut?

Amar'e went from 13.5 to 20 to 26.
Favors went from 6.8 to 8.8.

Stars by and large display their offensive trajectory in their first year & make huge leaps in their 2nd. There are few exceptions, such as Jermain O'neal. If you go down the list of every All Star over the last decade then you might find 3-4 2nd tier guys who developed slowly (Billups). 1st tier guys are by and large known right out of the box. Burks, Hayward, & Favors do not have All Star caliber trajectory on the offensive end. We'll know about Kanter by the middle of the season.
