Why is RAJA still on the team

Welcome back. You've been strangely silent during all the trade activity.
I guess this is the best you can come up with.

Um, let's see: Dallas didn't want to take on extra salary as they're bidding on Deron. Atlanta is shedding as much as they can to go after Superman and his buddy, Hedo, who would be included in any deal.

Oh yeah, perhaps it's NO ONE WANTS Raja. I think we'd have to include an unprotected first for a team to take him off our hands.

I know you have to find something critical to say about KOC, but is this the best you can do? Don't worry. Raja will NOT be with the team in training camp. He'll be gone by July 17th, which is the cut-off for the amnesty provision to be used. BTW, did you know it can't be done until July 11th, which is the date all these trades become official?

Besides why announce something like that when there's still a small chance his expiring could be used in a trade. I know you probably think otherwise, but I'll bet KOC is still talking to teams and agents about further deals and FA signings. Nothing may happen, but you don't limit your opportunities until you have to.

All that needs to be said. No reason to amnesty Bell until KOC is absolutely sure no one will take him in a trade. Bell is the ONLY player that this team will consider amnestying, and after this season, the only players even eligible for amnesty would be Kanter, Favors, Hayward, and Burks. Obviously, those guys aren't going anywhere unless its via trade.

In the midst of all this great news, you STILL just had to find SOMETHING to complain about, didn't you? We've made great offseason moves and you know it.

MO is great news. But, what else is really that great of news? Does anyone really thing that Marvin Williams is going to have a break out year with us with the log jam of our young guys that need minutes and touches?

Are we really better off. When teams like Boston are reloading on the fly with Fab Melo and Sulleger. We seem to be stuck in the mud of mediocracy.

I think Raja offers us some vetren experience that our young guys, really need and help in their development as the future for our team, plus he is a Kobe killer and can hit the long ball at a very effective rate, don't forget he has history with the Jazz and we always need to keep guys who like Salt Lake, since we can't attack many free agents here, plus there is the whole ring the Bell thing that bolerjack gets to say when he hits those triples!!!

Look at GS they are going to be a ton better next year.

I think Bill Simmons hit it on the head with GS:

Golden State's starting five (Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Barnes, David Lee and Andrew Bogut) looks sneaky-good on paper … right until House says, "You left out the part that Curry and Bogut will get hurt, they're paying $25 million per year to Richard Jefferson and Andris Biedrins, and their coach was just involved in a sex/extortion scandal with a stripper."

Whether or not the jazz get stuck in mediocrity depends upon whether Favors, Kanter and Burks reach their potential.

He can still hit the occasional 3, and provides veteran....Oh dear ****ing hell. Why the **** is this clown still here already. KOC must have been sleeping (or just really busy with the draft, and the other more important moves he just made)

The Ws still don't have much in the way of interior offense (or defense besides Bogut). They're going to shoot themselves in and out of games like last year, and I doubt Barnes plays much better than Rush did at the end of the year. This assumes they don't have major injuries again.

I wouldn't say Bogut is injury prone as much as he is just plain unlucky. Dude has had some freak injuries. But bottom line he does miss a lot of freaking games. Curry is already/still have ankle problems. I wouldn't trust this group at all.

We have two young guys on the wings that need minutes and touches. Add in Williams and that makes 3 wings. I'd hardly call that a logjam.

no way GS makes the playoffs next year.

Why not we did. Look we would give our right arm for a big like Bogut and a shooter like Curry or Klay Thompson. We are excited about Marvin Williams and Barnes is a younger Williams. Just saying that GS pick might not be that great next year.

I got it!
The only GM stupid enough to make a move is Billy King.
I say we abuse his stupidity and send Raja there.

the short version: all hope for their improvement rests on a guy who has missed an average of 29 games per year over the last four seasons, curry and thompson replacing what they got from ellis and curry, and harrison barnes having an extraordinary rookie season. if all three of those things happen, they will be on the playoff bubble and be fighting with another 3-5 teams for the final 2 playoff spots. and if they get to that point, the fact that they spent last year teaching their team how to lose is going to hurt them.

No I get your point. But, if those players play to their capacity they are a dangerous team going forward. They go rid of their ball hog in Ellis. Time will tell.
