What's new

Why is Rudy so spastic when he gets the ball in position to shoot during a game?

He just lacks offense. And with that comes lack of confidence with everything on the offensive side. Shooting, catching a pass, passing, etc.

We know he looked mediocre on offense in the Olympics. How did his d look?

Pretty much fell flat all over the place from what I saw and read and heard from friends. I really wonder about him at times. Maybe we better not be so quick to cut Pleiss out of the picture. I think after his injury last year Rudy lost a lot of confidence and I hope he is working on conditioning and rehab this summer. Personally I hate having pros in the summer games. They need time to heal and get back into game shape for next season. If Rudy lost the time to properly heal and rehab due to the Olympics that will affect us all season.

Dude Pleiss is a joke. But I agree. Gobert needed the rest and we badly need everyone to be healthy to fully assess what we have.

Rudy played like 7 games. That won't affect him that much, if any at all.

I'd rather not rummage around just to find a link, but I'm positive they sent Alex Jensen (assistant coach), a trainer, and maybe even a massage therapist with Rudy to France. They did the same stuff w/ Exum, Neto, and Pleiss last year. Not sure if Neto got it again this year.

I am not trying to sound old school, but if Gobert developed a "sky hook" it would not only add value to the Jazz and to him, but it would open up his game a hell of a lot more. The sky hook is not used because it is not taught like it used to be. It could still be a very valuable part of a teams offense if executed through the right guy. WE HAVE THE RIGHT GUY!!

Found it. Thanks.

In short, and call me a pessimist, but I think we've seen the best we'll ever see of Gobert. I don't think he'll ever improve on offense. And defensively I'm not sure he'll get better per se. I think he is what he is.
