Why we should hope Exum plays more PG than Mudiay ... and other passing stats

Calculated from NBA.com's tracking passes stats: 2018-19 EFG% of their teammates when the shot was preceded from a pass by

58.4 Korver
57.2 Neto

52.3 Exum
51.7 Mitchell
49.5 Conley
49.4 Rubio
49.2 Bogdanovic
49.1 O'Neale
48.3 Davis
48.2 Green

48.1 Ingles
47.1 Gobert
46.2 Niang
45.4 Crowder
44.9 Favors
44.2 Burks

43.3 Mudiay
42.8 Sefolosha

Of course team context needs to be kept in mind. These figures also have no relationship to turnovers, fouls drawn, total number of assists, etc.

But maybe this can be regarded as something of a measure that combines gravity/pass quality.

EDIT: Mod, please change "home" to "hope" in title

Assuming good health, I'd be shocked if this wasn't the case.

Joe Ingles's EFG% when shot preceded by a pass by (minimum 20 passes):

65.4 Neto
61.3 Rubio
60.0 Mitchell
57.7 Crowder
57.7 Gobert
52.3 O'Neale
43.8 Favors
22.2 Exum

(Note: Ingles somehow made only 5 of 30 3-pointers after a pass from Favors and missed all 14 of his 3 pointers after a pass from Exum)

Dante Exum's EFG% when shot preceded by a pass by (minimum 20 passes):

58.6 Mitchell
52.2 Ingles
46.4 Favors
42.9 Gobert
36.0 O'Neale
30.4 Crowder

Royce ONeale's EFG% when shot preceded by a pass by (minimum 20 passes):

62.4 Mitchell
60.3 Crowder
55.6 Exum
52.0 Ingles
44.0 Rubio

George Niang's EFG% when shot preceded by a pass by (minimum 10 passes -- small sample size alert for almost all of these):

67.5 Mitchell
64.3 Rubio
58.7 Ingles
55.6 Neto
46.2 Exum
39.3 O'Neale

Some observations (beyond the Exum point in the title):

- Mitchell is vital for the Jazz's offense, despite his own shooting inefficiency thus far (obviously)

- We got rid of our top and lowest performers in this passing measure this offseason. They were replaced by generally good performers in this measure (aside from Mudiay)

- Somehow we were better off with Gobert passing to Ingles than Ingles passing to Gobert

-Ingles is a little bit of the odd person out among the Jazz's returnees, as his passing seems to have fit better with those who are gone than those who remain

-Other than Ingles, it seems almost as if the Jazz purposefully kept those who had good chemistry with each other (according to this passing measure)

Mudiay is gona show up. I got a feeling hes going to buy into snyders system and become a very solid player.

Best of luck to exum. Hope he can stay healthy, but I never was a big believer.

Hope im wrong about x.

Interesting...
Korver, the ultra floor spreader

Neto, the eye test indicated same as these results: general team uptick when he checked in. He pressed the d into reacting.

Exum, breaks down defenders, putting pressure on defense. Openings occur via help d.

Mitchell, draws a lot of attention, creating open for others.

So why is ingles so low? He’s a play maker...

All the low guys are clear...
