Will Burks Continue to Start?

Heavy minutes for our starters.

Burks 36
Hood 36
Hayward 36
Booker 30
Favors 40

Burke 24
Withey 13
Ingles 15
Lyles 10

Haven't had a chance to watch the game yet but sounds like players were absolutely gassed going into OT

I'm all about always putting out a competitive lineup, but coming off the bench invariably affects the ceiling of how many minutes a player plays. We don't have the depth to afford the luxury of having Burks come off the bench (and thus, losing productive minutes). I think on a contender, Burks best role is coming off the bench, but this team is miles from that right now.

Sounds like Quinn wanted to give the game a playoff type of vibe. Big minutes to starters and a small rotation. I'm glad they decided to do that, because it should help these young players when they do manage to make the post season.

Also, Withey should start and Lyles should go to the D-League for a spell. Once Lyles can actually shoot, then the Jazz can again experiment with the idea that he can stretch the floor for anyone at all. Until he can consistently do anything, he probably shouldn't be playing, let alone starting.

Yup, gonna be interesting. Seems like Neto is better equipped to guard TP. Burks starting sure got us off to a good start last night though.
I think Burks guarding Tony Parker > neto guarding him.
And I especially think Parker having to guard Burks > Parker having to guard neto

I agree about Withey and tinker with a Burks, Hood, Hayward, Favors, Withey starting 5. I don't see any detriment to sending Lyles to the DLeague for 4-5 games. I'm probably one of the more optimistic fans about Lyles, I think he does have the ability to be an impact player, but it really just comes down to how he develops.

I think Lyles is in the perfect spot to learn ....starting in a lineup with Burks,Hood,Hayward,& Favors will benefit him as well as the Jazz as he will become an integal part of the Jazz rotation joining Gobert and Favors.Who really thinks Withey and Booker are going to be and stay Jazz players into next season.
As it is now you're not seeing Lyles closing out games but still he has the best view to learn ,on the bench.
Next year it will be Exum,Burks/Hood,Hayward,Favors,Gobert w/Lyles,maybe Burke as the core.Lyles has skill and is getting rebounds and moving the ball. He's just like Exum last year ,under a short leash by Coach Snyder on how much he gets to do.

He's getting more comfortable and I've seen a big increase in his physicality/rebounding. I'm impressed with how he is picking things up. He needs to shoot the open shot more imo, but I don't think he's the type that would benefit from a D League stint. Also, we need the guy to play 20 minutes a night. I don't think he kills the starting lineup as much as Neto does because Lyles doesn't end up with the ball a ton.

I think Burks or Burke should be a starter. It gets our best players on the floor more. I'd like to see Burke playing more... He's had a few games where he has struggled, but he's playing much better this year.

Withey sucks. He plays ****ty defense, which is basically the only thing he needs to do adequately.

Yeah, this should be the lineup. Neto should get 0 minutes. The shot distribution was pretty good. Burks/Hayward/Hood/Favors should all be getting 15+ shots per game w/ Burke launching off the bench.

Hayward had 22 points vs Durant in a game where I didnt even feel like he really played that well and Favors struggled vs Adams, so when this lineup plays less talented teams, it should dominate.
