Will Hayward make Favors better or will Favors make Hayward better?

My favorite play from the last game of the season involved Hayward throwing the ball to Favors in the post, who immediately was double teamed and in return through it back out to Hayward for an open three, which he drilled.

Found at the 2:22 mark on this video.

This sequence prompted the thought in my head, which player Hayward or Favors will benefit the most by having the other on the team?

I think that Favors will blossom more from this relationship, cause teams won’t be able to afford to double him if Hayward consistently knocks down open jumpers, allowing Favors to use is athleticisms to beat his man one-on-one. Thoughts?

By the way this is my first thread and post, but I have been following this blog for the past 2 years and have enjoyed all your comments and insight. Well almost all!

We can all cry about not signing Wes, letting Korver and Boozer leave and then trading Deron, but at some point you need to look at the young talent we have and hope that they can fill the holes.

I agree, but who caused those problems and yet he seems unscathed. They were talking about the GM of the Thunder and all of the talent that he has assembled.

And the GM of the Thunder did that though the DRAFT. KOC has gotten us multiple lottery picks this year and possilbly 2 more next year. Plus got really lucky that the Blazers took Oden over Durant. Lets see where the GM gets us by having the chance to have high draft picks on this team. Since the only Lotto pick we had up until this year was Deron.

Malone made Stockton better except for every second Tuesday of the following week, and the last two minutes of the game, fifteen times a year. Then it was all Stockton. And sometimes Horny. Once it was Russell. Ostertag was credited with trying to make anyone better, maybe. All other times it was Sloan channeling his inner Pete Marivich while trying to feed his inner Laydon.

Thanks your post just gave me a headache.

Welcome aboard! Hit the star at the bottom left of the screen to give reps to good posters. HINT HINT LOL. As to your thread it is really hard to say. Lets just hope they play so well together that we debate this for many years.

The GM of the Thunder had 4 top 5 picks in successive years and got lucky when Portland took Oden. Hard not to assemble talent with those picks.

Zulu is off to one of the strongest starts I've ever seen.

In contrast, KOCBEGONELOLBRB is off to a start so bad it can only be described as somewhere between ncoloradojazz and write4u. Beantown's 'alter' ego?

Repped...+1 exactly

I guess I don't get these kinds of debates. Together they could be great, who cares why? Same with Stock and Karl. They were great together who cares which made which better. Play together as a team and it shouldn't matter.

Yep. OKC had three picks in a row in the top 5. Got Durant, Westbrook and Jeff Green in some kind of trade involving Rashard Lewis. Two of them panned out.

The Jazz needed to re-tool and you can't criticize KOC for trading one lotto pick (D.Will) for 4 (Harris, Favors, NJ pick, GS pick). For better or worse, these picks will define the franchise.

I hope KOC finds a way to leverage Tomic one way or another, if he isn't in the picture.
