Thread title says it all: will the Jazz trade their pick or draft at #9? I'm curious to know what people think.

I'm going with staying, just because this franchise has rarely surprised me. Then again, there was moving up for DWill so KOC does have it in him.

I voted for trading up but I think that is more wishful thinking than what I actually think will happen.

The jazz really havent expressed being "in love" with any of the top prospects, so no, I dont think they will move up.

Which in O'Connor speak, might mean they want to. I think they've probably discussed both scenarios with Minnesota - moving up for the #4 or down for the #16 and #23. And probably moving down with Memphis (12 and 28). Perrin did kind of slip up a bit in an interview, when trying to explain why they brought in guys projected to go in the 20's (Lawal and Jones).

I'll bet Minny wants too much for the #4 and KOC doesn't want to drop all the way to #16. Seven spots is just too much to move down, unless someone Utah likes really drops. Most likely scenario, IMO, is the Jazz staying at #9 and then buying a late 1st from a team wanting to save money. Does Minnesota really want 3 more rookies with guaranteed contracts? Maybe they'd deal the #23 for $3M or the future pick from Memphis.

Most likely scenario IMO is that the Jazz draft at #9 and their second rounder like normal and there is no trade, discussion, further buying of picks, etc.

I think the Jazz are more likely to trade down than up given what we have as assets. But ultimately I voted that we would pick at 9 as expected.

The likelihood that the Jazz will be drafting at #9 is very high. Whether they trade the rights to the pick after the pick has been made is undetermined.

I'm going to say there is an 85% chance we draft at 9, a 10% chance we trade down, and a 5% chance we trade up.
