If the Jazz get a pick 6-8 which is looking pretty likely..would you be happy with Hood?


I don't think he will be an All-Star but this is who I hope the Jazz get if we don't have a top pick. He is very consistent and can come in right away and be really good. Everytime I watch a Duke game to watch Parker I end up really liking Hood. I think he would fit perfectly with the Jazz.

Burke/Neto?
Hayward/Burks
Hood/Williams
Favors/Evans
Kanter/Gobert

Maybe a playoff team next year?
 
He is probably the 2nd best shooter in the draft behind Stauskus. I wouldn't mind him, but I don't think I would use a top 10 pick on him. I would also take Stauskus before him.

Hood is known for being a pretty bad defender.

Weak for position w/ average length.
 
Having a nice all around year but will be 22 before he plays his first NBA game. Imagine what guys like James Young, Noah Vonleh, Aaron Gordon will look like in 3 years.
 
I'm torn on Hood. The guy hasn't impressed me on the defensive end. Though he is pretty clutch, offensively.

What about Hood projects to being a good defender?

That average athletic ability? The average length? The slight frame? The lack of defensive energy?

I've seen way more of Hood than you have, believe me. I like him, but I wouldn't say he projects to be a good defender.

You are also displaying Thriller like comparison skills by relating Jimmer to Stauskus.
 
Jabari is the best player coming out of the draft right now. Embiid, and Wiggins look good, but with them its still a projection that they will have a higher ceiling. More potential maybe, but right now Parker is better than both.

We can't get Jabbari because our front office is too dam stoopid to see the forest through the trees.
 
If the Jazz have the 8-10 pick I'm ok with Hood. But he'd be a bittersweet prize for this season.
