The Jazz should treat their star player well and give him a great contract so he is happy. Teams shouldn't play hardball with their star player if they want to keep them. Hayward left in part because Jazz didn't give him a contract. Your takes on this are petty at best. Even if he does leave we have at least 4 years until then. If we aren't competitive with him at that point he would want to leave regardless.

I don't like him after this. The contract is ********. He earned the contract and the Jazz earned some respect from him for putting him in a great position to succeed from day 1. That contract is nothing but a middle finger to the franchise and fanbase.
It is. It has a player option, and a trade clause, of which no team is trading for him where he doesn't agree to waive that. You also won't trade for him if he doesn't waive it because obviously he's not re-signing with you. The contract is a middle finger at the franchise that helped make him who he is and hurts his value even in a trade.

He literally is not just our star player, he's the face of our franchise and our only chance of pursuing other star talent. You give him what he wants. This is a Christmas present to all Jazz fans!
