It would be tough to make the book into a movie, but an HBO miniseries would kick ***!
Different episodes could be the different stories in the book. New characters and what not every episode. Tell it just liek it is. A reporter interviewing all these people and as the people tell their stories we flash back to that time period and actually see the story unfold.
