Who is, pray tell, the Jazz biggest rival? And who would consider the Jazz their biggest rival?
Because I have no idea at this point.
I would say this, in order of strongest argument for who Jazz fans consider to be the biggest rival:
Lakers
* that 7-game 1987 series
* Stockton taking over Magic's assist record
* Karl being all Karl about Magic and HIV
* Kobe's airballs
* The Lakers bouncing the Jazz from the playoffs for 3 straight years
* All those annoying zoobs that come up to the ESA every time the Lakers are in town. Yay! You're from Cali, I get it.
* When Karl Malone played for the Lakers
The Lakers probably consider the Celtics to be their biggest rival.
Rockets
* winning the chips in 1994 and 1995 (It's Our Year! promotions)
* Uh OH!
* them being lil bitches about Karl Kung Fu kicking his way into the paint
* losing in the playoffs after going up 3-1 and T-Mac's mind "already in the next round"
* James Harden turning into a battering ram
* Dwight Howard
* The WHOPPER
Rockets probably consider the Spurs or Mavericks their biggest rivals.
Denver
* Geographically closest.
* When LHM got into a fist fight with a couple of Denver degenerate seat jumpers
* 1997, When the Jazz went down by 30 and still won the game
* Carmelo "missing the all-star game to Kirilenko? I mean, come on!"
* Fesenko getting off on them in the playoffs
* Boom, Bitches!
Nuggets probably consider Utah or LA their biggest rival.
Golden State
* Tanking for Harrison Barnes
* Us bouncing them in 2007 even though they believed so hard
* Baron Davis flashing after dunking over Kirilenko.
* Mark Jackson
* 1994 playoffs
Golden State probably considers the 1996 Bulls, the 1986 Celtics or the City of Enoch All-Star team its biggest rival.
Sacramento
* 1999 playoffs
* 2003 playoffs, sending Stockton out
* Cowbells
* Jason "da history professor" Williams
Thanks to Shaq talking about taking a dump and calling them the Queens and the 2002 WCF, Sacramento considers LA its biggest rivals.
Sonics/OKC
* GARY GARY GARY GARY
* 1996 WCF when the DC was louder than a space shuttle launch
* The Kanter trade
OKC considers the OKC media to be its biggest rival.
Portland
* The 1999 playoffs
* The 1993 WCF
* Danny Ainge
Portland considers corporatism and bones to be its biggest rivals.
My nomination:
The Detroit Pistons
* Dennis Rodman
* Isiah Thomas
* Chuck Daly (RIP in Peace)
* Chris Webber
* Allen Iverson
Also, anyone who says they wouldn't date someone who was a fan of another team is lying. If Strom Thurmond sired a mixed-race child, you would bang a Laker fan. No doubt about it.
