Would you draft Embiid at 5 ?

So your reasons for not taking the most talented player on the board at #5 are because some guys got hurt earlier? Well that's just outstanding logic.

Meanwhile, a player with the same injury that Embiid had, has come back perfectly fine. Lets just ignore that though.

A guy not having a shot is just as big of a reason to not draft somebody as an injury is. A guy not playing defense is just as big of a reason to not draft somebody as an injury is.

Maybe Embiid will stay constantly injured, but selecting him is the right choice if he's there. No doubt about it. Go big or go home.

Why don't you stop talking out of your *** and do some research?

1) I don't have ESPN insider. I don't pay for garbage.

2) The foot issue is a big deal, but at this point, I'd rather take a gamble on him being able to play than being stuck with some guy at #5. Is his injury that much more of an issue than Gordon not being able to shoot? I don't think so. Besides, no matter who we draft, we're going to be in the lottery for at least one more year…why not take a risk for once?

As other have said take the Noel/Griffin approach Embiid...

Let our young guys run with our new coach and really see what we got with them, get a decent draft pick next year and start making trades and build a playoff team for 2015-16 season!!!

Wow.

Comparing Griffin's injury to this? That's like comparing a skinned knee to a torn acl.

Oh, not to mention Embiid's back issue...

Worked with Blake Griffin. Well, technically I believe he was hurt during the pre-season.

Blake suffered a torn mcl, right? Those aren't nearly as serious as a torn ACL or broken foot. A broken foot especially for a 7 footer? Ummmmm yeah. Red flag.

The problem is, he might not be able to play. The article talked about big men who suffered navicular injuries. 3 of the 5 examples, Borchardt, Yao Ming, and Bill Walton played in 424 of a possible 1312 games. That means they missed almost 70% of their games. Two others, McHale and Ilgauskas, came back and had productive careers. So it's a crapshoot but most of the evidence points to a lot of missed games for a guy that needs to be on the floor to develop. Combine that with the back injury and it doesn't look good. I guess the difference between him and Gordon is that Gordon would actually be on the floor. In any case, without knowing more about the severity of the injury it's hard to form an opinion.

No. There are three things that cause talented big men to retire: bad back, bad knees, and bad feet. He has two of the three already and has yet to play an NBA game. Not just no, but hell no!

I don't know why the kids on this board can't comprehend this. Maybe they're just too young?
