Would you trade Hayward+assets for John Wall??

I can't believe how people are panicking on this board. Sign H Barnes to a max -- that is ridiculous.

No, I wouldn't do any of these impulsive trades for Hayward. What has John Wall ever won? Let's see what we have with Exum and a healthy team going forward that should see the improvement of everyone, including big strides from Lyles, Hood, and Rudy.

I think some of y'all are lacking context here.. you're turning a blockbuster trade into an unrealistic massive rip off in Utah's favor.. Isn't that obvious??

Instead of thinking in terms of 'better' or 'upgrades' think in terms of safety, Hayward is not remotely as safe of an asset as Wall because he can walk next season.. This move adds flexibility to the roster because forecasting the salary structure will be easier.

The question is, is the deal in the OP enough to get Wall? would they ask for multiple 1sts?? Hayward could walk..

How much are we willing to pay Hayward to resign him, $25 mill, $30? What would you find reasonable? I would cringe if we go for the max and spend about 25% of the salary cap on him.

John Wall was 4th in the league in double-doubles, if you think they'd take Hood, when they have Porter and Oubre, over Hayward you're crazy... They're not trying to tank next year, they're trying to have a Portland type of rebound, while convincing Hayward to stay..

¾ market value. he;s a choke artist, and has one season to prove otherwise.

Good Question.

We know Hayward will demand (and get from someone) MAX.

We did this story 3 years ago.

The difference this time is Jazz do not have the power to match, so the ball is 100% in the Jazz's court to offer MAX , and 100% in Haywards court to accept.

The advantage Jazz have is they can pay Hayward more per year and give 5 years. But make no mistake, he has earned MAX money, get over it if you think otherwise.

After SIX seasons, I think we already know what Hayward is and isn't. He's a very good player, but has reached his ceiling.
Agree. Hayward career shooting percentages year by year: 48%, 45%, 43%, 41%, 44%, 43%.... Career average of 43.8% from the field.
Three point shooting by year: 47%, 34%, 41%, 30%, 36%, 34%... Career average of 36% from three.

I really like Hayward but 25-30 million is something I would not pay him.
