When can the potential card stop being played? Eventually you settle just into the player you are.Favors is who he is at this point. Just another classic example of Jazz fanz overrating theplayer on the Jazz. Horford is by far a superior player who actually has played a lot of the 5 spot also.
He is also turning 30 this June... and will be looking for a new MAX 4-5 year deal...
By the end of his contract when he's 35, would he still be worth ~$20m we'll be paying?

This is the main point. Sure, horford is probably better right now, but not by much. And would he even re sign here anyways? No sense in losing favors for a marginally better player who is soon to be on the downward trend.
That would be pretty sweet. Though I was thinking three.

Horford is not the superior player. Favors has improved every year in the league and was on an All-star pace till his back injury. No GM in the league would take Horford over Favors right now.
Favors statistically is better than Horford right now offensively and defensively. Favors is also 24 on a good contract. Favors is also better than Horford was when he was 24.

I just watched Al in the all star game AGAIN. Has played in the game more then Favors will ever get to it.
Ja need some vets. If you think Favors is better oe even almost as good you know nada about basketball and just cheer on what team and not comment..Ja have some nice pieces but if you want ot be rea conteders you got to make moves to me this would be a solid team that coud be a top 4 in west and then you guys get out of first tound

Horford g back to paying his natural 4 spot but can also pay the 5. He knocks down jumpers better then Favors so he wil age better. See Dwight Howard for Favors. When you have limited offensive game and rey on athetic abilty, you go downhill quicker. Thatteam I just put on PAPER for yll is so much better then the ones yall have now... Horford being a good shooter he still has 6 years at minimum of olid ball, maybe he has another 8. Not uncommon for shooting pfs to play quality in later years. Now who wants to try to tel me the roster you got now is better then the one I mentioned
