It's the silliest award/distinction in the NBA (well I guess we have clutch player now), but it is all we have for this cursed season.

I don't think there is a chance they both make it at this point. Collier was getting most of the buzz, but I really think Filipowski has stolen the noise to end the year.

On Zach Lowes new podcast, he selected Flip for second team and it sounded like Collier wasn't even a close cut for him. His ballot has historically been the best indicator of how this ends.

Collier for me. The assist stats were fantastic.
To be honest this high assist count in the large part was simply due to the fact that Collier was the only PG on a bad team. Trey Burke and Killian Hayes posted similar numbers on bad teams too.

It speaks more to the lack of experienced secondary playmakers alongside Collier: he logged a lot of minutes together with Kessler, Lauri, Collins, Brice, Cody and Juzang. The only reliable passer next to him was Sexton, and Collin was often preoccupied with getting buckets.

Collier is a hell of an exciting player, and his break out came when games mattered more. Plus he improved his shooting every single month up until April.

But for voters who watched maybe one jazz game this year, and who will just pull up stats, Kyle is the kind of player they'll choose. 7'er who averaged 2 assists a game, shot 50/35, and with much better advanced stats. I'll be honest, as someone who watched the majority of the games, I'd choose Flip as well. Love Collier and his heart, but he has the kind of flaws that will lead this forum to turn on him real quick if he doesn't have a good off-season.

Somewhat unrelated, but it’s incredibly lame that Zach Lowe basically decides the ballot every year….there is so much group think.

I think Lowe himself would say the same thing. When the votes got revealed it was supposed to be for accountability, but now everyone does the same thing and votes in a way as to not catch heat for it.

Agreed, he even gave up his ballot to deflect some of the heat of upset parties when they lose. Can't blame the guy for being credible and influential, but agreed it's lame

Yeah 100% not his fault, but now I think people media members mostly copy him in an attempt to be lazy and/or not look dumb when the votes come out.

Anyways, I think Collier and Flip are at similar point right now....but Flip has been better over the course of the season. Collier was legitimately awful at the beginning and that drags down his total season performance. If someone deserves an all rookie spot, I'd lean Flip.
