What's new

You heard it hear first... Trade/Offseason prediction thread!

I'm not sold on Bledsoe. I might be okay with Bledsoe for burks straight up.

2014 draft will be stacked and we could get a great player in that draft. So i hope we go young and lean next season. We need to add another piece to the puzzle and the 2014 draft would give us that opportunity.

Lets sign Jarret Jack to a 2 year deal and we should front load the first year so we have more money in the second year of his deal.
Sign J.J. Hickson to be your 3rd big: Front Load his first year too. Two or three years (we need to use 90 percent of our capspace.

Roster should look like this:

Jack/Burks/D-Leager
Hayward/Burks/ Pope?
Carrol/Marvin Williams/Hayward
Kanter/Hickson/Evans
Favors/Kanter/Hickson/ Adams?

This roster would be interesting to watch. We'd be able to see where the young guys are and what they are made of. We'd also likely win around 30 games which would mean we'd be drafting 6th or 7th-ish which could very well equal Marcus Smart or Harrison or maybe even Jabari Parker.
Who could disagree with this. Please explain if you could actually disagree here. If I was KOC, I'd totally got his route. 2014 could be a historic draft. we are not going to win with Jefferson and Mo as one of our main guys. Why would you keep them just so you could be a 38-43 win team???

Do you really like Jarret Jack better than E Bled? Jack is at best a glorified Jamall Tinsley. At least Bledsoe has upside.

It would be stupid beyond belief and a disaster of epic proportions. I have to believe that they aren't that stupid. No way could they be that stupid.
With a team owned by Greg Miller and coached by Ty Corbin, anything is possible...ANYTHING.

Yup. They have not fired Tyrone yet, so that does indicate they are a bit loony in their thinking. And I bet Ty is lobbying real hard to get Fool's Gold, Big Al, back.

Bro, Jack can shoot it and that makes a big difference. Look at his numbers from last year... he can play. Bledsoe still has a few question marks. He is 23 and he can't shoot but i do understand why people are big on him. Huge athletic PG that can defend and get into the lane. If we lose enough games, we could end up with a great player in 2014. If we had parker i do not think we would even need a real PG. Burks at the 1, Hayward 2, PArker 3 would be pretty awesome. They could all facilitate. Anyway, it is not that i am anti Bledsoe. I am just not sold on Bledsoe yet.

The thread about Tomic got me thinking today. I would like to see Tomic come over this summer to be a backup big next year. I would like this roster:

PG Bledsoe, Burks, Tinsley or Draft
SG Hayward, Burks, Draft or FA
SF Igoudala, Demarre, Marvin
PF Kanter, Evans, Marvin or Draft
C Favors, Tomic, Elton Brand

Oj Mayo and Iggy 2 or 3 years each. 8-10mil per season per player. And trade up to get Burke

I like Iggy and Burke. Not sold on Mayo yet, but he would not be bad though. With those two guys on the wings, we would be searching for minutes for Hayward and Burks, so I would probably say no to Mayo, and have a three wing rotation of Iggy, Hayward and Burks.

Don't think Mayo could fit in with KOC and Lindsey's vision for the future of this team. They want Hayward and Favors, soon kanter, to take over the leadership role for this team. Hayward and Favors are not ready to do that if you put a guy like Mayo in the locker room.

no doubt.

At the point I see us picking up the starter and possibly a back up at the right price but more than they paid Watson and Tinsley combined. (Calderon, Jack, Mo Williams, Collison, or Maynor) and a draft pick as the third point (CJ McCollum, Schroeder, Wolter or Carter Williams) Burks will remain available and as a point but be listed as a 2. Point will remain our weakness but I think this is an improvement over Tinsley and Watson.
I think the main pick up will be a starting 2 guard (Iggy, Kevin Martin, JR Smith, Tony Allen, or Tyreke ) with Hayward and Burks as back ups and possibly bringing back Foye in a Tinsley/Watson capacity as the old vet just in case. Murphy will be gone.
Hayward will start at SF, Marvin will opt in and Carrol will come back as the third SF
Favors, Kanter and JJ Hickson or Pekovic will be the main 3 bigs with Jeremy Evans burried as usual and Adams as the project pick. I would not be surprised to see them consider Kaman, Spreights, David West or Landry and a 4th big to round out the team and cause consternation by competing for playing time.
