Siro won't sniff youtube tv in 2017 and even if he did it's still a bundled cable package without TNT. One that requires a stellar 3rd party ISP. If Google works out the kinks in wireless broadband then I'll get excited about a true competitor. Short of that Comcast will remain king.

Book it

Great talk guys. I haven't had TV in years, so if YouTube gets me to sign up, that's a decent accomplishment.

One thing that people like green are also forgetting is that there are apps out there for FREE that allow me to watch more shows and movies than his expensive comcast package provides.

Right now I'm watching sneaky pete. An amazon tv show. I don't have amazon tv.
I watched stranger things. A Netflix show. I don't have netflix. Making a murderer. Etc
I watched the movie passengers, John wick 2, rings, arrival, the revenant, nocturnal animals, and tons more before any of the hbo/showtime/starz/etc ever had them.

Only thing I care about cable for is live sports and soon we will be able to get them without cable. (Hell I already can get most byu football games with the ESPN app.)

isn't that piracy and illegal!

There are many apps that allow you to steel intellectual property.

To be 100% clear, it is stealing.

I think it's crazy people talk about it openly. I don't usually hear people talking about how their neighbor leaves his garage open so it's easy to go take whatever tools he needs without having to pay for it. Or how they save tons of money on their grocery shopping because they load the cheap stuff in the shopping cart and pile the expensive meats and such in a false beer gut suit they wear.

I don't understand why it's okay.

i used to think it was wrong(even though Netherlands downloading is legal till the global tyrant called eu stepped in and forced us to change the law)

but after the recent condescending lecturing from the Hollywood liberal elite, i say screw them let them not make a single cent of me for the rest of my LIFE!

Yet I doubt any of us would talk about it if we were stealing DVDs at Walmart.

I know that people don't feel guilty about it, they practically brag about it. I'm not really trying to say they are bad people, I just think it's weird that it is generally acceptable to do it.

sometimes it just a matter of being able to afford it. me for example pirated every single game i played until about 6-8 years ago.
now that i am financially more stable i buy games.

even bought the games i played back in the day and never played again. i bought it and it just sits in my steam library!

so yeah, one thing i find horrid with the whole media system.
is the amount of profit they make. why the hell do we need to pay 50 bucks for an avenger bluray after it made it money back five fold in the theatrical run? those prices are just outrageous.

or for example if you are a cord cutter lets say you watch about 2 tv shows a night 5 times a week(1 40 minute show and 1 20 minute show)
that is about 480-700 dollar worth of tv show you need to buy on iTunes thtas a lot of money for some entertainment. usually and episode cost 2.99 (for example big bang theory) there is a cheaper seaosn price.

lets be honest those people are fracking hypocryts the entertainment industry is moslty left wing people, they will go on twitter and scream income inequaltity while they make half a million dollars for a episode. while others who work on the behind the scene barely get by
yet these entertainment people get on their soapbox and lecture us about income inequality and other left wing hubbub. so yeha i have no sympathy for them.

I don't know what kind of prices you find but those don't even make sense. Nobody charges $50 for a blue-ray DVD or $2.99 per episode of a season.

I know you're a troll but at least make it believable when you spew **** out of your mouth.

How are the actors hypocrites? Because they made money from "the man" and want to help less powerful people (ie, minimum wage earners) have opportunities to make more money?

That makes no sense.

Why are you asking them to take pay cuts but then are for corporate welfare and tax cuts and cutting welfare?

That's hypocrisy.

Hey guys, I have an announcement. I'm opening a burger joint. The burgers will only cost $0.50, but they come with a $50 order of fries. You can throw the fries in the trash if you want, but remember that the cost of the fries subsidizes the burger. My burgers come with a ton of mayonnaise, so they are different from my competitors who are selling their burgers for $5 a piece. Look forward to taking your money.

sounds like socialist burgers to me!
