Bit of a straw man. I never implied this is actually going to happen. This is a discussion forum and I am simply adding to discussion during a slow time for Jazz fans. I apologize if I offended you.

From what I remember reading Portland forums, he played like **** even when he was healthy. They blamed it on his divorce. Either way, it's 12m for a player who will probably be bad. We would have to release Booker too.

Not that I have a say in the matter, but to me it's a definite no.

I was the other! I'd love Batum!! He's been on the decline but with a better coach and a new situation will work wonders!!
 
We don't need another wing. Maybe a backup C and a pg. if we sign a wing it better be for a star. We don't need to sign a role player on the wing

Batum had a down year due to injury and maybe other stuff. He is only 26 he could bounce back next year especially if he was motivated to play with his friend Gobert. That said, he is not worth this years first but maybe if we traded the OKC pick for him it could be okay.
 
I thought he was somewhat declining last year too. I'd rather draft Oubre and give him a year to become the same player as Batum.
 
Batum was begging Portland not to match his contract. He really wanted to play for twolves. I think he would be an awesome addition to the Jazz. 26, friends with Gobert, solid all around game.
